Am I the only one who thinks England should have a plus serious personalty?

I just... I feel as if England sounds far too cheerful in Hetalia.
I've studied most of England's history, and I can tell toi that he suffered many hardships, as well as made others suffer (alot). I think that he should be plus serious, if not slightly cold-hearted, even.

I don't mean to say that he should be some kind of a bastard, but I've met a considerable amount of British people, since my mother's English, and most of them are actually very strict and... Somewhat like icecubes too.
