salut guys i still don't exactly get the ending of the heathers! was he just testing her and if soo why?

I think it's important to understand that the ending in the movie was not how it was to originally end. So the whole movie is setting up for an ending we never see. (We never find out who Veronica is taking to prom. the prom that was supposed to happen in heaven ) instead we get a world where Veronica, takes control (of the red scrunchie)at the film’s end without mass casualties, but even as she’s “new sheriff in town,” as she says, she breaks tradition and pals around with Martha “Dumptruck” Dunstock; this is the idealized" ending where we are met with the hope that heaven is not the only place where ppl from different social backgrounds can truly get along. And how very is that?
