No offense but Hermione and Harry together felt more incestuous than pairing Ron and Ginny together. Hermione and Harry were WAY more brother/sisterly throughout the books than anything else. As a sister myself, to an obnoxious but crazy-in-a-good-way brother, that's the kind of relationship I see with Harry and Hermione.

And, by the way, can people please stop asking this question? I am REALLY getting tired of ship-related picks. This is nothing against you specifically, Matthewgdog, for making this pick, but more of a general statement to everyone to just chill with the shipping wars and repeat picks. That's all.

The first comment mentioned Hermione and Harry being the greatest of their era. Harry is the most influential probably, and Hermione the most intellectually intelligent, but I doubt that Hermione could beat Molly in a duel from what we saw on the Great Hall (for example)

it was unexpected that it happened, but when it did, im like, "thats kinda sweet."

Ginny is feisty. Harry finds her physically attractive. He appreciates her sense of humor and she appreciates his. They both share of love of playing Quidditch. She has lots of brothers so he can have that family he's always wanted. None of the other girls mentioned can give all of that to him.
