Chapter 2:
The Goblet
The suivant thing I know is I am at the Hogwarts hospital, Cedric, Hermione, Ron and even Harry looking at me. Cedric was holding my hand, he was the only person except me that knew the reason this happened; and thank goodness he was able to control it.
After I got out, I entered the big room, and the “welcome” ceremony was about to start. This an was a special an as I could see. Lots of other schools came to Hogwarts for some reason. I hugged and greeted every single person I knew from our school, and sat at my usual table, on the Gryffindor house’s table. Except this time, I didn’t sit in my usual siège suivant to Bonnie. I sat between Elizabeth and Maria this time. I hugged them, just as I hugged everyone else on my way to my seat.
“Wow Cor, you’ve changed!” started Elizabeth.
“I have?” I wondered.
“Yes, toi have.” This time Maria was the one to answer.
“Oh well I sure didn’t realize that.” I a dit grinning.
“I think toi look even plus beautiful than before.”
“Oh Maria c’mon! I was never beautiful anyways!”
They both burst out from laughter when they heard this. “You’re kidding me right?” asked Elizabeth, finally calming down from the laugh.
“Uhh… no.”
“Well toi can’t possibly be serious. toi and Bonnie are the prettiest girls in Hogwarts!”
I sighed, closed my eyes, shook my head, and turned around to look at Dumbledore for the announcing. He a dit that this an would be special, and that this an there is the triwizard tournament- so that’s why they all came to Hogwarts-. He also explained how hard it would be, that if toi choose this way, there’s no turning back, the winner will get the cup and will win eternal glory, and also that if we want to participate we should throw our names into the goblet of feu before Thursday.
Right at Thursday morning, when I was going to my first class, I found Bonnie on the main stairs, lire a book. “Wuthering Heights”, I think. Anyways, I decided to finish this; I couldn’t just not talk to her forever. Besides, my plan might have already worked par now.
I came up to her, and trying to smile and a dit “Hi Bonnie.”She looked up at me and smiled back “Hi Caroline”
“Listen, I got to talk to you” I said
“Ok.” She said, closing her book. “What is it?”
I took a deep breath and started “Ok, here’s the thing, I think that the whole fighting thing is just stupid. We shouldn’t fight for things like this, and I’m very sorry.”
Bonnie smiled again, but this time, it was a smile from her cœur, coeur “Of course, I think so too.”
I smiled back. “I just simply realized that there’s no particular point of fighting”
“See? I told toi I always trust you. Friends always...”
“… And forever” I finished our phrase.
She came up to hug me, she hugged me really tight, I could barley breathe; but I ignored the thought and hugged her back. “And par the way… toi were right” she started, putting her head down. “I do like him, but I realized that just yesterday.”
Yes!! My plan worked!! “You did?” I was so happy!
“Yes, I did. Harry came up to me yesterday and we kind of talked about our fight and he a dit that it would be ok and then he a dit that he likes me and I a dit that I like him back and then we kissed.” Bonnie’s head was down, but I could feel that she was blushing.
“Oh my god! Bonnie I’m so happy for you!” I said, hugging her as tight as possible.
“Thanks, how did toi know that I liked him anyways?”
“It’s obvious from the way toi look at him. I know when a person is in love, the way toi look at him, the way toi listen to him, everything. toi know that I’ve experienced this, I’m experiencing it right now.”
“Yes, ok then, I guess we have to go to class now.”
“Yeah, let’s go.” And we both went.
Right after the last lesson, it was time for announcing the chosen ones for the competition. I sat at my place, suivant to Bonnie this time. “I can’t wait!” I a dit impatiently.
“Why?” asked Bonnie.
“Because I can’t wait to see who are the chosen ones, duh.” I answered. Bonnie just rolled her eyes and watched Dumbledore with the rest.
“All right, it is time to see who is chosen.” He said. The goblet started burning like crazy with blue feu and threw out a sheet of paper. The first one was Victor Krum, seconde was Fleur Delacour. And the third, my cœur, coeur practically stopped beating at the third name.
“Champion of Hogwarts, Cedric Diggory!” announced Dumbledore.
My face suddenly dropped and became La Reine des Neiges solid. I stopped breathing. I felt numb. My heart, I couldn’t even feel my heart! I heard all the applause and happiness from everyone, I heard his footsteps as he passed par me. I couldn’t believe it. I was incredibly scared.
When he walked back to his seat, I was still shocked, but the numbness started to wear off. I looked at him passing by, the only thing that he did was smile at me. How could he do this? Does he think that he is the only one that could be scared for me? Doesn’t he know that I’m scared for him too?
And when suddenly, the goblet started burning again and another paper flew out, I was even plus scared. It was Harry’s name. Harry isn’t even sixteen! And toi have to be at least seventeen to throw your name in it.
I turned around to look at Bonnie, her face was just as mine when I heard Cedric’s name. I can’t believe he did this either. I touched the scar on my neck and remembered what Harry was to me; I couldn’t just let him go like this! He is one of the closest people I have, even though he didn’t know it yet.
This might sound surprising, but Harry isn’t the only one left from his family. Me, I am a part of Harry’s family, I am one of the closest people in the family, I am his sister. We were separated par the death of our parents. I was about four years old and Harry was only a couple of months old. I have dad’s hair and Mom’s looks and eyes. Harry is plus into dad, which is why we don’t really look the same, but we are. In Hogwarts I’m known as Caroline Turner. But, my real name is Caroline Potter. Harry didn’t know that yet, I was told that it would be too dangerous for Volondemort’s servants to find out that we met. Only Cedric, Dumbledore, Hagret, and Professor McGonagall knew that. Hagret and McGonagall knew this because they were the ones to take me, Dumbledore knew this so I can get to this school, and Cedric knew this because Hagret told him. He a dit that it would be better not to break our bond. Kind of weird, I know.
