***SPOILER ALERT***

I rarely ship non-canon couples. But this is one non-canon couple that I absolutely adore. It's not a very populaire one. In fact, it's quite unpopular amongst fans, partially because most people are fairly content with HarryxGinny. Some of the most common non-canon couples concerning these characters are HarryxHermione and NevillexLuna. I honestly cannot stand either coupling, but I'll get into that later. (Remember, this is just my opinion! I have nothing against others who think differently! I totally respect it! Just putting my point of view out there!) So I'm just going to write a little blurb about why I l’amour HarryxLuna so much.

I felt that Harry and Luna both connected extremely well, especially in Order of the Phoenix. In Order of the Phoenix, Harry really feels outcast and is treated like a freak. Of course, being Harry, he is extremely moody about this. However, he always found it comforting to be with Luna because she really understood what it was like. People always treated her like a freak, just because she was different, like him. But somehow, she manages to be quite a happy person despite this. Harry finds that incredible, and that makes him feel better about it as well. He also finds it comforting to know that he still has someone there for him, even when everyone else seemed to have abandoned him (of course, his Friends didn't, but Harry didn't realize that just yet.) Luna was also able to see thestrals, just like Harry. She watched her mother die. She was able to relate to his parent's death because of this. Luna was just so different, and she knew she would never be normal. This made him feel like he wasn't alone.

One plus huge thing I l’amour about them together is their relationship (as friends, of course, but it had so much potential). After Sirius was killed, Harry refused to speak to anyone. Nobody could console him, he pushed everyone away so that nobody could be there to support him, even when they really tried. Not even Dumbledore could help him. Heck, not even Ron and Hermione could help him! But he found that for whatever reason, he was able to speak to Luna about it. He wasn't sure why, but he could. She helped him feel better, when nobody else could. She knew exactly what to say, and what not to say, and she knew how to listen to him. It was she who gave him hope for the future, and it was she who pulled him out of his depression when nobody else could. Also, at the end of Deathly Hallows when Harry finally defeats Voldemort, everyone wants to congratulate him and party. However, congratulations and partying are the last thing Harry is in the mood for. Unfortunately, nobody seems to realize this in their euphoria caused par Voldemort's defeat. It is Luna who sees Harry's unhappiness. In fact, she is the one who provides a distraction for him so that he may be alone for a while.

Now, I really don't mind HarryxGinny. I really don't. They work as a couple. I just think HarryxLuna would have been better (in my opinion). But yeah, HarryxGinny definitely works, and I have absolutely nothing against this coupling (except, perhaps, disappointment that Harry didn't end up with Luna, but that doesn't really count, now does it?)

However, HarryxHermione is horrid to me. I could never see them as anything plus than friends. I think RonxHermione is just so perfect, and it couldn't have turned out better. But Harry and Hermione are plus like brother and sister than lovers. I have just watched Ron and Hermione grow and evolve from the very first book. Also, I don't think Harry and Hermione's personalities match as lovers. They match as friends, absolutely, but not as lovers. I'm not sure why, I just don't like it. At all.

Now, don't even get me started on NevillexLuna. I cannot see why people l’amour them together so much. The only reason I could see for people putting them together is that they are both the biggest outcasts in the books. However, their personalities do not match for amoureux in my opinion. They work as friends, but... I mean, it would be so awkward. Neville would feel extremely awkward with all of Luna's strangeness. Neville may be an outcast, but he is not NEARLY as downright weird as Luna. They just don't have enough of a connection to work as lovers. I just downright cannot stand them together. If anything, I think Luna should have totally ended up with Dean since she didn't end up with Harry, because the connection between Dean and Luna really sparked up significantly about halfway through Deathly Hallows.
