Harry Potter Question

Discussing Narcissa Malfoy. Your opinion?

I rewatched the movie recently and It got me thinking. Do toi think that her lying to the Dark Lord and potentially saving Harry's life is enough to redeem her for supporting the Death Eaters?

I personally don't think she would have had anything to do with the death eaters if it wasnt for her l’amour for Lucius and Draco. I mean, yes she was raised into the "noble house of Black" and into pure-blood surpemism, but she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, and some kind of mental stability, unlike so many of the others.

So, In my not so humble opinion, I think lying for Harry, even if it was for selfish reasons, is enough to redeem her. Thoughts?

Half Half. I always imagined her as snobbish, but with a fierce l’amour for her son, like Mrs Weasley. In the last two books, she became plus and plus terrified of Voldemort, so I think she felt like she had no choice but to be a Death Eater. However, I think she was a racist (mudbloods and the like).

I think she just went along with whatever Lucius was doing(Same with Draco).She didn't seem to montrer her own opinion around Lucius but i don't think she really wanted to be around the Death Eaters.

She didn't want to be a part of it and she didn't want to see a child die(Harry).

The thing she really cared about if Draco is alive ou not and when she found out he was she decided to let Harry live aswell(that's how i soe it) ou she just didn't want to bother as long as her son is okay.

    @BedIntruder-Mrs Weasley?

I don't think Narcissa is as loving as her,she did l’amour her husband and son but their family shows 'love' in a 'colder',different way.

Let's face it: Narcissa Malfoy didn't give a damn for anymone, let alone Harry. She just wanted her son back, alive and well. I can understand her desprate needs to know her son is alive, any mother would worry. She, Lucius and Draco all wanted things to go back to normal, as it was before Voldemort took over. None of them wanted to get involved.
