"It hasn't really felt real (yet). All this hard work I've done my entire life is about to pay off."

"I auditioned forever. At first they a dit I was too small and too young."

"As soon as I read the script, I knew it kinda related to me. I wanted to disguide myself as not some celebrity's daughter, just be me and find people that like me for me."

"I thought a lot of girls wanna have their secret identity and have something they don't want to tell people about."

"[Playing Hannah] is a total girl thing. It's like dressing up every day."

"Hannah in the montrer is enormous, like a Hilary Duff of TV. I hope everyone really likes her. She's a great person!"

"I think Hannah gets nervous just like any other person would. She's like a dork, personally. She's just really, really fun."

"Whatever person kids relate to the most, I want them to call me that. Sp of Hannah's plus who they find their inspiration in, call me Hannah. If they're plus an average girl who wants to blend in with everybody else, then call me Miley."

"People actually say Miley mostly because they see Miley mostly on the show. When I have the wig on, they'll say Hannah, but when I don't, they'll say Miley."

"Some of the fanmail is interesting! Some of it's the lyrics to the songs and stuff, and they'll like, send me their favourite lines, which is cool to...know what people are liking. Most of them are really cool to read."

"The plage set of Hannah Montana is dirty, but it's kinda fun to feel like you're on the beach!"

"When preparing for a concert, I do lots of training. I work with a choreographer to create great moves and then I have to keep my voice strong with lessons."

"It's itchy, really itchy and hot, but I like being blonde. I don't really want to dye my hair. I feel like a total rock étoile, star with the wig on."

"Sometimes when I go into my dressing room at lunch, I'm like, " Is that me?" It's really cool because it looks nothing like me, which is the point, but its really neat to see it!" [on being done up as Hannah Montana]

"When I was in Nashville, I went to our Macy's and went and tried on all the Hannah Montana stuff. Then I said, 'This is weird, I'm wearing my face.'"

"One time, me and one of my best friends, Sarah were at Disney World together and we were in a gift boutique and one of our favori songs came on and we just totally zoned out and started chant and dancing to it and we completely forgot anyone could even see us then everyone was staring at us like "What the heck are they doing?" And we were just like "umm, oops!" It was pretty funny but really embarassing!"

"I'm a big shoe person. Sometimes I'll be punky, the suivant jour I'll be preppy. Every jour after work, my mom and I go shopping. My dad is about to kill me. I say, 'We need it, daddy!'"

"Every day, I go on pretty big shopping sprees. But when I'm with my friends, they get even worse. Thery're always like, 'Come on, just do it!' It's hard when toi have someone to talk toi into it."

"I l’amour everything [Jessica Simpson] ever has on! Jessica can definitely come pick me up in her little Mercedes and take me shopping if she wants!"

"I don't really have a style -- I'm just me. My style is kinda whatever I feel like wearing. A lot of girls feel like they need to wear what everyone else is wearing. But it's good to have your own trend. People will start following it!"

"I always have two bracelets on my right arm. One is a purple and white bracelet from a fan. I l’amour it! I also wear a bracelet from a waterpark- I've had it on for two ou three years. My mom says it's pretty nasty, actually. But you'll never see me without them ever! In magazine photos, the bracelets are sometimes airbrushed our, but viewers will always see me wearing them during scenes."

"I have Candy all the time. I live on gummy bears and pêche, peach rings. They're like dried-up peaches, only dipped in sugar. toi can get 'em at gas stations. They're like 99 cents for four bags. And cashews. I l’amour cashews."

"My favourite sport is cheerleading!"

"They're going to be pretty harsh, so no matter what they're going to honestly think, they're going to be like, "You stay, toi go home." That was the most nerve-wracking part." [on auditioning for cheerleader]

"When [my Dad and I] are doing photo shoots ou something he'll just yell out things I wouldn't want anyone to know. Just aléatoire stuff. "Remember that time when toi were a kid?" That kind of stuff. But it's funny. It breaks the ice. It makes everyone smile. If it takes embarrassing me to make everyone happy I'll take it."

"We'll have an argument at home, and then I realize I'm going to have to drive to work with him. It's the logest heure of my life. If feels like I've been in the car for four days!"

"[...] Finally I call [Dad] and ask, 'Where are you?' and he says, 'I'm on the set, where are you?' and I say, 'Uh, Dad, did toi maybe forget something?'"

"What's good is that once my dad and I are accueil we are done. We don't even run lines together. Anything that happens on the set stays on the set."

"The only conseil my Dad's donné me is: If toi ain't having fun, it ain' working, so always have fun with what you're doing. If toi don't l’amour it then there's no reason to do it. And don't do it for fame ou money- do it because it's something that toi feel is right."

"My mom is always telling me it takes a long time to get to the top, but a short time to get to the bottom."

“My dad said, ‘Just stay in school and do cheerleading. Be a normal kid.”'

“The training is pretty harsh, but it's so worth it once you're on stage and getting trophies.” [on cheerleading]

"It was hard to leave my school. I've been going to the same school since kindergarden."

"I come from this really small town near Nashville, Tennessee, where everything was la-di-da and normal."

"Some people recognize me. I really like it."

“I went to Universal [Studios Hollywood theme park] with my brother and a friend. The recognition was immediate. It was craziness — all the kids on every ride. I felt like I was going to hurl after one ride and all the kids were like, ‘Hannah Montana is about to puke!”'

"It was weird the first time it happened. It was the jour after the montrer came out and my best friend and I went to Universal and we heard these girls scream, 'Is it her?' We're looking around for Britney ou Lindsay ou someone famous and they're like, 'Are toi Miley?' And I said, 'Miley? Yeah, why?' I thought I was in trouble."

"I'll be out with my Friends and be recognized, and little girls will ask me for my autograph. It is so much fun living out your dream. It, like, totally reflects me 100%."

"So then all these people were like following me. It got kind of creepy, but then again, I was like, 'Oh, gosh, this is so cool! Awesome!'"

"I was having lunch with my brother and I had on my pajamas, i wasn't wearing makeup, and my hair was totally nasty. So we get to the restaurant and the first thing I hear is, 'You look a lot better on TV!'. Somtimes it's really weird to hear stuff like that. I just think 'Well that was harsh!'. But then again, there are times when someone will come up to me and say , 'Ohmigosh! You're so cute and I l’amour your show!'. And when that happens I just think 'This is sweet!'"

"These little kids come up and invite me to their birthday parties," she says. "I keep thinking, 'You know, I should go to some of them.' "

“I’ll be doing a concert and I’ll look out in the crowd and I’ll see 3-year-olds. Then I see 6- and 7-year-olds wearing ‘Hannah Montana’ wigs and all this stuff. And then I look out and see people who are 18, 19 and 20. I think the reason the montrer has the wide range is that no matter how old toi are, no matter where toi come from, toi always have a dream ou a goal that you’d like to achieve. It shows just a normal girl reaching her dream. So I think that gives a little bit of inspiration to all the viewers.”

"As soon as I step on that stage, nothing matters. I don't think of it as work. It's just so much fun."

"There's nothing plus fun than being out on stage and getting the vibe from the crowd. There's nothing like being on a set where toi are there to make other people happy and to make them laugh. That's the best job in the world."

“I was chant on the stage with my dad when I was 2. I would sing ‘Hound Dog' and silly songs for the fun of it.”

"I have four shelves covered with journals that I've written. Dad and I are écriture songs together. I've probably written 100 songs."

"When toi write ou sing a song that means something to you, toi are saying, 'You know what? This is who I am!'"

"I write in my sleep. I don't know how, but I'll work on a song, go to sleep and it's finished when I wake up."

"My Dad always told me that casting agencies are like artists picturing their paintings in their mind. They know what they want for a role and not to take it too seriously [if I dont get the part]."

"Hilary Duff has been my role model forever. I went to her concert like right when her musique started coming out when I was probably like 11. I was just amazed par her. So now, to be compared to her, it's like...holy moly. It's so cool!"

"I'm a big Hilary Duff person! My family loves her."

"You don't have to go out and party every night. toi can act because it's your dream."

"I am not very good at keeping secrets at all! If toi want your secret kept do not tell me!"

"[In a fight] I try to be the bigger person. There's no harm in saying, "You know what? Whatever. I'm going to let it roll off." I try to be generous with my response."

"I’ve got to make really good decisions. And that helps me in my real life because it’s that little voice in my head telling me right from wrong. plus than just for myself, but for the girls who are watching me.”

"I'm pretty outspoken"

"I cut the ribbon in Paris, and everyone in Paris speaks French — maybe toi knew that. But I'm from Tennessee, and Tennessee girls don't speak French. So suddenly I'm stuck onstage with Minnie and Mickey and everyone is yelling at me in French — I guess they're telling me to get off the stage, but I didn't know what they were saying at the time, so I start dancing with Minnie and Mickey like on the montrer and finally my aunt comes and gets me off.
