Close your eyes through your entire practice session. Do not picture your way around the fretboard, hear your way around it.
Hear yourself to the suivant note, to the next, chord, to the suivant scale. It should be a relaxed exercise, not a strained one. Like when you're at a distance from a battery powered clock.
If toi strain to listen to its tick toi cant hear it but when toi relax and allow it to come to you, toi can hear it clearly.
