What do toi suspect will happen to Derek and Meredith's marriage since Patrick and Ellen both signed contract extensions?

Patrick has already been on several talk shows about doing his racing full time after season 10. I expect his character will take the job working for the President, and Meredith will stay behind, learn of her newest half sister soon, and the montrer will go from there.
