fans known colloquially as “Stoneheart Truthers” got very excited when the Walder Frey mentioned the Brotherhood Without Banners in “Blood of My Blood.” This past week, that excitement doubled when members of the Brotherhood showed up onscreen, and one of them was even wearing a yellow cloak.
Why a yellow cloak? This was a nod to book fans who know that one of the Brotherhood is a character named “Lem Lemoncloak.” No, Martin isn’t naming characters after Rainbow Bright figures—the guy’s name is Lem, he happens to wear a yellow cloak, some guys made fun of him (Lem-moncloak), and the name stuck. And then those characters came back and hanged Ian McShane’s character.
Hanging, for the record, is Lady Stoneheart’s favorite method of disposing of her enemies in the novels, where she takes over management of the Brotherhood Without Banners and directs it toward one purpose: revenge. Stoneheart, for those who don’t know, is the reanimated corpse of Catelyn Stark, who has rather a lot to be vengeful about following her death at the Red Wedding.
The actor playing Lem is named Jóhannes Haukur. He is an active user on Twitter, and he’s been having a little bit of fun since Sunday’s episode aired…
Three humble souls riding through the Riverlands. Love and laughter, not a care in the world.

Some of his tweets have been useful—for instance, he confirmed that he will be in “No One,” this week’s episode.

That means the Brotherhood is back for another week. (Most likely to meet with the Hound’s axe.) But Stoneheart Truthers are hoping that their leader might be with them too. And knowing that, Jaukur tweeted the following:
If she’s not there, they’re going to be so disappointed, something Haukur seems to have figured out.
Dawning on me that some of you guys might hunt me down if that bitch doesn't show up. I can't say either way!!! 😭🍋👗 #LadyStoneheart #GoT
Let’s move on to characters we’re sure will be appearing in “No One.” Take Qyburn, who’s behind Cersei in the promotional images. Qyburn, as we all know, was kicked out of the Citadel, and not considered a real “maester.” (If you’re unclear on this point, feel free to ask Pycelle about it. Chances are he’ll hold forth on the topic from now until the episode airs.)
But Qyburn has been made official in one sense, and I’m sure that if you told Pycelle, it would set his teeth on edge. In his concurring opinion in the case of
, Judge John B. Owens of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals coined the word “qyburnian” to describe what he saw as the majority opinion’s resurrection of an outmoded legal standard. That, of course, is a reference to the fact that Qyburn resurrected Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane from the point of death, and with that, Qyburn has entered the language of US law.
Next, some judge can invent the word “pyecellian,” meaning “to pretend to be utterly useless while annoying everyone.”
And finally, for those who were sad that the original “Broken Man” speech from
did not make it into “The Broken Man,” and wanted to hear a veteran of HBO’s
recite it, here is David Milch, the creator of the HBO drama, reading the passage after fans sent it to him.
“The Broken Man” has come and gone, and has left plentiful funnies in its wake...

There is a clip in the season 6 trailer showing a bloody hand trailing along a wall, it’s at about the 1:44-1:46 mark. The sleeve on the arm is the exact color and style of the shirt Arya is wearing in the “No One” trailer as she’s taking her parkour leap. Is she still bleeding after a change in clothes or perhaps it’s not her blood? Any thoughts?
No Anguy, Tom Sevenstreams, or green beard ? I believe Thoros is confirmed to return.
@ploppy If she make her apperance by the end of Ep 8 or we get another big hint by the end of it. Then definetly Ep 10 is her introduction. I love LSH so much and this is the last chance for her to make her debut.
That would be so epic to finally introduce LSH in the final shots of episode 10.
Lady Stoneheart would have given this season the extra little kick it needed.
The internet would break in confusion. Most show watchers have forgotten about Cat at this point and would be so confused. LSH is unnecessary as hell.
Strictly from a television perspective, what good would it do to bring in Lady Stoneheart now? The Red Wedding itself was tragic enough, why can’t that just be the end of Catelyn’s storyline in the show. It’s been three seasons and they’ve already brought back Jon Snow and The Hound. I understand that people are attached to the character, but why is it it necessary on the show for anything other than fan service.
I agree with you mate. As much as I loved Catelyn as a character I don’t want to see a bloodthirsty birthday bitch coming back from the dead to kill some Freys. I d prefer someone else to do it and not her. It would dishonour her character and her arc in total if she eventually came back.
So you know more about her character than George himself?
LSH is going to make an appearance. She will take out the Freys. It’s going to happen. Every other fan theory has come true. It will make a greater impact for her to show up and slaughter the Freys.
LSH is an awesome character but where would her character fit torwards the end game? Two more seasons consisting of 13 episodes to conclude the entire story doesn’t really leave a lot of room for her, unless she is more relevant to the conclusion then just being a revenge zombie. At this point shouldn’t all the characters in one way or another be headed torwards merging their storylines?
“A Queen comes forth. Euron reveals himself. Brienne meets an old friend turned foe. Kings Landing awaits Justice. The Nights Watch gathers.”
Maybe this has been noticed elsewhere, but I think this is one of Haukur’s most interesting quotes…
Somebody says: “And murdering innocent people?”
To which he replies: “Who is to say who’s innocent or not? Assuming we did what you think we did…”
Later somebody else says: “In episode 7, we didnt get to know why you killd those poor people. are we going to learn why you killd them in episode 8?”
And then Haukur replies: “Assuming I did, it is heavily implied I admit, I’m sure they wouldn’t let that story line just hang. Things need to be resolved.”
So I do assume they did the killing, but now I’m wondering if maybe it was not just a random, pointless slaughtering of innocent people after all.
Maybe they specifically came for this Ray, who himself hinted at having had a violent past. He described killing a baby. So sure, killing all those other people is excessive, but if at least there was some ‘good reason’ for killing Ray, it might still be in line with their behavior in the books (‘justified’ violence that gradually escalates). Makes more sense than the Brotherhood without Banners completely randomly massacring a bunch of civilians.
As much as I would like to see CleganeBowl, as there are really only 2 episodes left this season considering the Battle of the Bastards will likely take up all of episode 9, I doubt we will see it.
I also believe leeked spoilers indicate a lack of CB and LSH.
So why bring back the Hound? My thoughts is that the Hound will kill several members of the BWB and possibly lead a contigent of Riverlands malcontents against the Freys. He will take up the mantle of LSH in dishing out justice to those who have brought such bloodshed and misery to the RL.
This allows the justice so many want dealt to the Freys and Lannisters as well as a possible alliance with Arya and/or Sansa in the future.
Plus if Brienne and the Hound meet again, would that not be worth the price of admission? Would he forgive her? Especially since she is Sansa’s sworn sword?
I was wondering if the Hound might not also become Sansa s sworn sword……little bird…..
CB doesn’t have to be this season, it could be next season as long as cersei doesn’t blow herself to kingdom come this season. As far as LSH is concerned, the hanging at the end of the last episode is her ‘signature move’ kind of, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
So guys, I just posted a picture of Catelyn stark holding a stone heart. The brotherhood actor replied with : She’s so hot. Troll of LSH confirmed?
I personally don’t see what all the fuss is about LSH, it’s a pretty boring part in the books and she brings nothing to the main story.. It’s been left to long and it’s just to cliche that so many people keep getting brought back from the dead this season like it won’t even matter who dies anymore because WHEY HEY just revive them *Rolls eyes*
How can you possibly say she doesn’t bring anything to the story? The book ends with a cliffhanger including her and two main characters. Have you read the next book already? Who knows she is going to be a new kind of antagonist, the night’s queen, but above all the only stark who’s going to kick ass.
TOM, some book readers have been excited about the LSH appearance because they wanted justice done for the Stark family and friends during The Red Wedding. The Freys and Lannisters have been the target of the BWB and LSH to avenge the death, betrayal and violation of the Guest Right of the parties mentioned.
Also, since HBO cut the GHOST OF HIGH HEART character from the show, it could have been an additional substance to the storyline in the Riverlands arc. Members of the BWB consulted the Ghost of High Heart ever since to ask for advice and prophecy.
To date, some of her prophecies have already come true, i.e deaths of Renly Baratheon, Joffrey, Balon Greyjoy and Lady Catelyn, including the latter’s resurrection.
Even Arya Stark met her and gave her the glum prediction because she saw that Arya was associated with death. Moreover, there was this one incident before that she predicted that from the Targaryen line, a prince that was promised shall be born.
I don’t think GRRM made the LSH arc just to bring back the dead a common occurrence. LSH has a purpose and we will know that for sure once the next book will be out soon.
