Lyric écriture and musique composition

Every member of F.T. Island has been actively taking part in writing lyrics and composing music. The first member to participate in composing music was Jong-hoon, who co-wrote the song "돈키호테의 노래 (Don Quixote's Song)" in 2010.[137] The song was later included in the album Beautiful Journey. He also composed the music for "고백합니다 (I Confess)" which was included in the EP Return in 2011,[138] as well as "We Hope to Become Lovers (애인이 돼 주길 바래요)" in the album Grown-up in 2012.[139]

In the album Five Treasure Box, all members took part in either lyric-writing or composing music. Jong-hoon co-composed the song "U (All I Want Is You)" and wrote lyrics as well as composing music in "Let It Go!". Hong-gi took part in writing lyrics for "Stay With Me", "Life" and "Compass (The Way)", while Jae-jin composed the music and wrote the lyrics for "Paper Plane". Seung-hyun together with Min-hwan composed the music for "Wanna Go (World Does Not End Song)" as well as "Compass (The Way)".[140]

In the 2015 album I Will, all members except Min-hwan was active in lyric writing and music composition. For the first track of the album titled "Intro", Hong-gi composed the music. For the title track "Pray", Jong-hoon, Hong-gi, Jae-jin and Seung-hyun worked together to write the lyrics and Jong-hoon composed the music as well. Hong-gi took part in lyric writing as well as music composition for the third track "Black Chocolate". "BPM69"'s lyrics was written by Hong-gi and Jae-jin, Jae-jin also took part in co-composing the music as well. For the fifth track "Do You Know Why", Hong-gi wrote the lyrics while Jong-hoon composed the music. "Hey Girl" was written by Jong-hoon and Jae-jin, and Jong-hoon also took part in composing the music for that song. The next track "To The Light" was penned by Hong-gi and Jae-jin, with Jae-jin also composing the music. Their 8th track "Time to" was penned by Jae-jin as well as taking part in composing the music. "Shadow" was entirely written and composed by Jae-jin, while "Please" was written and composed by Jong-hoon. For the last track "Light", it was entirely penned and composed by Hong-gi himself.[141]

For the album Where's the Truth?, Hong-gi wrote the lyrics for "Out of Love", "Take Me Now", "Wonderful Life" and "We Are...". Jong-hoon wrote the lyrics for "가면(MASK)", "너에게 물들어(Becoming You)" and "Paparazzi" while Jae-jin penned the lyrics for "Lose" and "Stand By Me". For music composition, Jong-hoon composed "가면(MASK)", "너에게 물들어(Becoming You)" and "Paparazzi" while Jae-jin composed the music for "Lose", "너에게 물들어(Becoming You)" and "Stand By Me". Seung-hyun also composed the music for "Paparazzi".[142]
