(omg, probably the shortest chapter ever. But it's a grey ending.)
"AMBER!" I called. "AMBER! HAVE toi NOTICED THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPTIC SETTING?" me and Devon were looked for her.
"devon?" called a faraway voice. "skipper?"
"amber! This way! Follow my voice!" Devon called.
Then something came up behind us.
"oh my god, skip-"
"zombie!" Devon panicked and kicked amber in the chest.
She dropped to the floor, flipper on her stomach.
"whoops... Sorry" Devon apologized.
Ambers voice was high and scraggly, "no problem."
I helped amber off the ground, and slapped Devon.
"okay, now that were all here- ZOMBIE!" amber yelled, pointing a flipper behind me. I turned around to see a tall human zombie, nboth arms outstretched. And I could see all the tees in its slimy green skin.
I was La Reine des Neiges in fear. I couldn't move. Devon moved behind amber, pushing her vers l'avant, vers l’avant toward the zombie.
"how, how do I kill this thing?" amber asked, pulling a couteau from what seemed like nowhere.
"sever it's head." Devon a dit in a shaky voice from behind her.
Then, a paw grabbed the couteau from her hand.
I turned to see we were surrounded. An I saw some faces I remember, only, they were morphed into ugly, green zombified faces.
I recognized moon cat, who ha grabbed amber's dagger. I recognized Maurice, maso, Phil. Ring Tail, Marlene, and.. And... GASP! private and kowalski were there. Among the crowd of zombies. The three of us looked all around. It seemed the whole zoo hd been zombified! I took one plus look at the zombie in front of me. It was Alice.
We were boxed in. Caged. Surrounded par the zombiesb of those we knew and loved, and ring tail, about to be devour, and severed limb from limb.
I looked back at the other two, ou should I say one. Devon was missing. Probably zombified par one of the green creaturs around us.
"skipper?" amber looked at me discontently. the zombies pushed in closer. Amber and I were but inches away from each other, and the zombies.
The zombies started moving toward us.
'this is it...' I thought, 'again...'
A sharp kick to the chest send Alice-zombie flying. Amber had gutted up and horse kicked her in the chest.
The Alice-zombie disintegrated into a pile of green goo.
I did the same.
We fought through the crowd.
Amber was right in front of zombie-ring tail, but I stopped her.
"lemme get this one," I said, smirking.
We were marking off zombie after zombie, one at a time.
But then, one of the zombies pined me to the wall. I gasped. It was kowalski.
"amber! Kick 'im!" I called.
"I- I can't!" she calls back.
I didn't see the problem, there were no plus creaturs of any kind around.
"amber!" I was becoming frustrated, the zombified version of one of my men was pinning me to a wall, just starin at me with its dead, white eyes.
"I really can't!" she called back, sounding a bit... Sick.
I heard a few coughs, followed par a sneeze and a sniffle.
"why not?" I asked. Trying to get loose from the zombie- kowalski's iron grip. Funny how much more... Flighty, he is when he's a zombified monstrosity. But he has no brain, which is DEFIANTLY not the kowalski I know.
"cuz-" cough. Cough, cough, cough. "cuz I l’amour him!"
PING! Oh, sorry, I didn't hear you, over the sound of it clicking in my mind.
[i]kowalski was ambers boyfriend![i/]
Duh!
So lemme tell youths situation.
I'm stuck here, pinne up against the mur par the zombified version of kowalski. Ambers the only one who can save me, and par the sound of her wet cough, she's been infected.
And now she tells me she just straight up [i]wont kill him[i/]?
I heard one last cough, then a kick. Then the suivant thing I knew, zombie-kowalski's head was right in front of me.
I looked up at amber, a brick in her hand, straining to keep tears from streaming down her face.
I walked up to her.
"amber?"
I got a cough in reply. Followed par another, and another. Cough, cough, cough, wheeze, wheeze, wheeze, until she dropped to her knees.
Oh, crap! Not this again!
Eventually, after a long time of watching her suffer, yes, she died.
But then, I coughed. And coughed. And sneezed. I dropped I the floor, weak in the knees.
I lay on my side, stuck in a fit of coughing.
I didnt think it, I didn't say it, I [i]knew[i/] it: this was it.
I was going out the way amber was.
I felt like I was drowning.
I closed my eyes and let the coughing take over. . .
