A Passing Glance
Mech-Skipper glanced at Bandit, she looked back at him. If toi froze the universe at this point of time, toi would swear that toi could see a spark between them. A sudden realisation, a connection if toi will. It is only noticeable to those who feel it, Bandit and Mech-Skipper certainly felt it. They did not know it yet, but it would intertwine their fates and change their view of the world around them.
The glance only lasted one second, but it was enough to send them both reeling. Despite their brief connection, they both had a job to do. In the middle of a warzone, there is no time for pleasantries so both of them, instinctively, jumped back ready to fight. Bandit was intrigued par the moment they just shared fleeting as it was. Swirls of emotions fluttered endlessly from her head to her stomach, back and forth, back and forth… No matter how hard she tried, she was drawn to the glowing red eyes of the robot before her, like a papillon de nuit to a flame. Mech-Skipper, felt quite differently. Being a robot, he had no idea of what emotions were and yet when he looked into Bandit’s eyes, the little motor in his chest that represented where his cœur, coeur would be began to slow. His eyes turned a darker shade of red, the pistons and bolts in his entire body locked up, freezing him motionless. They both stared for a moment, desperately trying to avoid eye contact when suddenly the real Skipper rushed past to stop Zookeeper Francis from striking the deal with Pervis McSlade the parks commissioner. Mech-Skipper gave Bandit one final look before running off to pursue Skipper. Bandit stood there, staring into the l’espace where the robot was stood only a moment ago. Just then, two Rico’s rolled past, fighting on the floor in a noisy heap, snapping Bandit out of her trance. She looked around at the other robots, looking into their eyes but she saw nothing compared to what she saw in Mech-Skipper’s eyes.
“ Bandit! Come on, we have to get out of here now!” shouted a voice from across the zoo. Bandit scanned to crowd of fighting animaux and eventually caught a glimpse of CC stood at the gate on the opposite side of the zoo, beckoning her to come. Bandit ran quickly through the crowd, avoiding the brawl. As she got closer, she could see Rune and CC stood on what appeared to be an old Skateboard along with the four original penguins. She hopped on with them as Rico and Kowalski began to push the skateboard down the kerb and across the street. “ Bandit? What’s wrong, toi look like you’ve seen a ghost ou something… toi feeling ok?” CC questioned, holding her flipper to Bandit’s forehead. Bandit pushed her away. “I’m fine CC” she replied as Rune snuggled down beside her.
