Hundreds screamed in response to the Party 105.3 DJ's question as he stood onstage at Beatstock, a concert featuring over 20 performers, at the Brookhaven Amphitheater Saturday (21 August).
Among the many artists that came out were Big Time Rush from the hit Nickelodeon montrer of the same name and ICONicBoyz from MTV's America's Best Dance Crew drew in the most screaming fans, many of which sported t-shirts and posters.
"Thank toi for having us and for making this city ours tonight," a dit James Maslow, a member of Big Time Rush, as an introduction to the song "City is Ours." The band also held an hour-long meet and greet for fans prior to its performance.
Other performers included Long Island native Raquel Castro from NBC's "The Voice," Shaggy, Qwote, Kat DeLuna, Dacav5, Jonathan Mendelsohn, Ultra Nate, Crystal Waters, Giorgio and others.
Most of the audience members bought tickets for lawn seating at the back of the amphitheater, but were eventually welcome to go down closer to the stage to fill in seats. And despite the hot weather, many concert goers stayed for the show's entirety - a total of roughly nine hours.
"I just wanted to say thank toi for staying out here with us [in the heat]," Robin S., a performer, told the audience. "I l’amour toi all."
Although there were over 20 artists present at the concert, 19-year olds Stephanie Lev and Michelle Tannenbaum, both from Nassau County, were there for one reason:
"It's really cool so far," Lev said, "but we just really want to see Big Time Rush."
The girls had a chance to take photos with the band at the meet and greet.
Beatstock was presented par the local radio station PARTY-FM, traverser, croix baie Motorsports and Gold's Gym.
