FanFiction.net Question

Is écriture fanfiction including yourself in the story bad?

I know about Mary Sue and all, but in the story I'm currently writing, I include all of my flaws and stuff, I definitely do not make myself perfect.
I'm écriture fanfiction about myself entering another world, it's based on a book series, but would it put people off lire it if I was the main character and not just some made-up person? I also use "I" instead of "She", like "I went to see if everything was OK." Instead of, "She went to see if everything was OK."
Anyway, please answer, I'd like to write GOOD fanfiction :D

I personally don't read self inserts but I suppose they can be good.

I do write them myself...but I also keep them to myself.

Not necessarily.

It's up to toi and your écriture to make your fan Fiction good ou bad. Some people may dislike the idea of a writer putting themselves into a fan fiction but if toi treat yourself as another character, I'm sure it'll be just fine! Definitely include flaws, nobody likes a Mary Sue, but don't shoot yourself down too much :)

Happy writing!

It can work. toi just have to be really careful not to make it a Mary Sue fic, and it sounds like toi are being careful. What toi mention last - using I and me - is basically just choosing to write in the first person. Some people always hate any form of self-based characters, some hate all original characters. Others actually advise self-basing.

It's all the same, and I think it's a different viewpoint to fanfic. Good going!

I personally always skip fanfictions with OCs ou the auteur in them. I prefer to read about the characters of the fandom rather then the author. I tolerate OCs when they are minor characters, but i do not like them as main.
I do agree with the other réponses that it all deppens on the person and how toi write it, but it also deppens on the reader and for me having an OC esp. as a protagonist completely turns me off and i do not read the story.
