I really just want to voice my opinion about this new band 'we are the fallen'.
I saw them on Youtube the other jour and thought that they kind of seemed a little like Evanescence, so I did some digging and found out this.
The band is made up from former members of Evanescence, Ben moody, Rocky Gray and John lecompt. The lead singer Carly Smithson off American Idol and huge fan of Evanescence, happens to look like Amy Lee (lead singer of Evanescence)Is it par accident that ex members of Evanescence use a look a like of their former lead for their new band? I think not. 'We are the fallen' (WATF)states " were just musicians trying to make music. we aren't trying to re-invent the wheel of Evanescence, were doing something new". Really?? If they were trying to be 'new' would they look, dress, sound the same as Evanescence? would they do cover songs 'Bring me to life', 'my imortal' and 'going under' par Evanescence? Would they name their band after Evanescence's first Album 'fallen'? To me this band is a copy cat, and are not going to get very far, with their 'new' music. My opinion? This band sucks, and are trying to start a war that they honestly can't win! If your having doubts about this then go to:

sapherequeen Well, I can see some resemblance between them and Evanescence, but I don't think they're trying to copy them. In my opinion, a lot of other singers dress up the way Amy Lee does. Like Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil, and the girl from Nightwish (I wish I knew her name, but I currently don't). And their music is actually pretty good. I like them, and I think they're a fantastic band. My opinion is that I love Evanescence and We Are The Fallen, but I will for everyone else's benefit say that I do like Evanescence a lot better. :) PS: I wasn't a fan before I read the article, I accessed the link and watched some videos of the songs by We are The Fallen, and that's when I liked them and therefore became a fan ^_^

DramaKweenie Hi, Sapherequeen, That's cool, don't feel like you have to say that Ev is beter cause of this article. Im open to everyone's opinions. It's good that you like WATF and all, but the only reason why im so against the the band is because of a comment Ben made in an interview. He said, "This band is going to bring more power then Evanescenece could ever muster" So I think for him, and the other Ex members of Ev, it's like there way of trying to get back at Amy or something? I don't know, but im kinda feeling a little sorry for Carly been dragged into all this mess. But yes, you are right. Any female fronted rock band that has dark hair and wears all black, is atomaticly going to be compared to the band that has been around longer than they have. Thanks Everyone for your comments. :)

Vixie79 I personally don't like WATF, I think they're a bunch of posers. You can't manufacture rock and if you do, you get WATF. Evanescence forever!!!

kayleeluvsbooks i personally do think that evanescence is better, but you guys cant just act like WATF is terrible just because they sound similar. Ben Moody WROTE some of the songs in Evanescence, so obviously they are going to sound similar. It's not like other singers dont have similar music genres too.

para-scence i hate watf. from what i heard, ben left because he didntlike the kind ofmusic they were playing. so he makes a band wth an ugly ass bitch, with muic that sounds just like it, only it epically fails. & john and rocky leave because they needed to be center of attention, but in watf theyre right back where they were. they suck. evanescence forever.

nymphetamina First and foremost, Ben, John and Rocky, per your post, are former members of EV. They have every right to play their songs. Now, just because they've made a new band doesn't mean they have to change genres. This is their original sound. If you listen to the new EV album and then compare it with the Fallen album, you would notice the difference. The Fallen album has a much darker sound which I absolutely loved and what got me hooked to EV in the first place. Of course, WATF would sound like EV (the original EV)! I mean hello, Ben , John and Rocky also contributed a lot to how EV sounded before. But as I have said, the EV album you hear nowadays is much different than the Fallen one. Lastly, hands down, Amy is the best singer for this genre. Her voice is sooo full of emotion. Carly has a strong voice but it seems to lack emotion. In short, just let WATF do their thing. How about you listen to them without preconceptions.
