In addition to her jouer la comédie career, Watson is a Global Goodwill Ambassador for “UN Women,” working to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women around the world.

Watson’s notable work on the HeForShe campaign earned her a place on Time Magazine’s 2015 TIME 100 liste of the world’s most influential people. In January 2016, Watson started a feminist book club entitled Our Shared Shelf. The club selects a different feminist book every other month.

In December YouGov gathered open-ended nominations from panellists across 30 countries, asking them simply: “Thinking about people alive in the world today, which [man ou woman] do toi most admire?” These nominations were then used to compile a liste of the 20 men and 20 women who received the most nominations and were nominated in at least 2 countries. An additional 10 populaire local figures were added to the lists for individual countries.
