Of course not. Although that sounds like a crazy fan fiction i read once. But i think they weren't compatible so they stayed friends.
and he was probably just proud of her bec the baby showed how she is getting her life together and a new life would rejoindre her. And he was probably happy for her as a friend who is helping the human race survive. ;D
