Why are the new Disney films not as good as the older and classic movies? There are many reasons that are contributing, some have been stated but I want to write down all the reasons I think Disney is not as good. I l’amour classic Disney films but I have been noticing changes in Disney.
First of all are the villains. The récent villains have been weak, and do not seem real so when the hero triumphs toi do not feel the need to cheer along with them. If the villain is plus menacing she/he is like another villain from an older Disney movie. Take the villain from Enchanted; she is on a quest to get the trône this is nothing new Ursula was trying to achieve the same goal. Her looks were like a plus beautiful version of Snow Whites evil step mother, she uses magic and she turns into a dragon something that has already been used!
Next is the lack of songs. Yes they have songs but none the characters themselves sing, these songs are mostly for background noise ou an odd out of place musique number. There’s no songs that help the story along, giving toi looks into the characters feelings that in words would be awkward, like the song God Help the Outcast’s what if that had been Esmeralda speaking instead of singing?
Another thing is the animation. (If the movie is animated) The new Disney animation has a very computerized look. This look does not compare to the look of old Disney, a plus homely and hand drawn look. The new look in a way does not take toi into the story the way the old animation did, leaving toi watching but not as into the movie as toi could be.
Yet another thing to add to this liste is the focus Disney has taken. The villains, as I mentioned above, have mellowed considerably, leaving something with the nametag of villain that toi can not be frightened by. Disney seems to have mellowed to, wanting plus jokes in their story and no frightening villains that might scare away their audience, young children. What happened to the first villains? I think Snow White was the scariest Disney movie, why? Because of the villain that’s why! I do not remember having jokes in Aurora, what made it funny, if toi can call it that was the fées bickering with each other and the joking song of Skumps! Disney was once looking out at a large audience, trying to make the films enjoyable for kids and adults now it seems that focus has narrowed.
Finally I come to the plot of the movies. The old and classic Disney films have plots taken from books, Beauty and the Beast, The Black Caldron, Aladdin, all taken from books. But lately Disney has been trying to find new ideas on their own and I do not think that they are doing a good job at it. This is just something I noticed and may not be totally true.
So I have come to my conclusion, most new Disney films have a hollow shell of a villain, background noise that may be interesting, a clean computerized and perfect look that leaves toi behind, and a storyline that is only mildly interesting.

 Julie and Dick!
Julie and Dick!
Hi guys, in preparation for the sequel 'Mary Poppins Returns'. Here is my review on the 1964 film!

The Film

I was really amazed par the visualisation of Mary Poppins, especially when 2D animations come to life considering this film was released in the swinging 60's and there were no CGI back then!
I knew Julie Andrews from The Sound of Music, which came out the an later after this film. But Mary Poppins was the first Julie Andrews' film I watched since my childhood days.
This film cheers me up, especially the songs because it's vibrant, colourful and interesting.

The Songs

I could not get...
