Now, just par lire the title, you're probably thinking "great, another Elsa hate article", but trust me it's nothing like that.

I thought Elsa was a great deuteragonist, despite how much her fans ruin her for me, but I think it would still be amazing if Disney had kept their original idea and made her a villain. She just has so much potential! She has good motives, she could send a good message about redemption and I think she would be one of the most developed and unique villain Disney could ever make.

I think Anna and Elsa's relationship would be much plus realistic if Elsa had been the villain. Chances are, if Elsa was the villain Anna would probably be afraid of her, like everyone else. This would create a plus tense plot! And Anna's roll in the movie could be to help Elsa redeem herself. I think this would have made room for the song "Life is Too Short", (which is a great song par the way, it's on the La Reine des Neiges soundtrack and toi can buy it on iTunes).

To be honest, that could make for a plus realistic and deeper relationship to the two sisters.

This leads me to the message of redemption and how realistic villain.

With Disney we have always seen villains who are just nasty for the fun of it (at least in original versions, Maleficent is fine). Those who do have intentions are both overused and shallow-jealous of their stepdaughter's beauty and kindness ou wanting to capture a hero for their own selfish desires. And sure, there have been a few redeemed Disney villains, but only when they got what they wanted.

Elsa could have been redeemed without getting what she wanted.

When toi listen to the song "Life is Too Short" , it seems as though Elsa's main reason for being a villain would be fear.
It was mentioned when Anna proposed her coming back to Arendelle and she feared being locked up again.

I think this would add a whole new dynamic and she wouldn't be the stereotypical Disney villain. She would have true, relatable intentions, rather than the typical "I'm just bad to be bad" kind of villain. Let's be honest- no villain in real life is evil simply to be evil. They have reasons behind their horrible actions.

And I think the redemption thing would be pretty cool, because there are so little Disney villains who redeem themselves, unless they are live-action ou Once Upon a Time. I think this is a good lesson to teach kids, because they can learn that people make mistakes, and that doesn't mean toi can't redeem yourself- but toi have to work.

I know one of the reasons they changed their minds is because of the song "Let it Go", which wouldn't work if Elsa was a villain. I think it could- but as a redemption song.

Just think about it this is the perfect song for a villain to hero transition! It has some villainous aspects such as "Let the storm rage on/the cold never bothered me anyway", and the part "The past is in the past!" could be used as a transformation.

Anyway, even though Elsa was a good deuteragonist, I feel like there is so much they could've done par making Elsa a villain. Thank toi for reading!
