Long titre was long.
Anyway, short explanation. I basically chose my favourite song from each of the Disney Princess films and then ordered those songs. Got that? Good.
Yes, I swear. Yes, I like a joke. Yes, I like to chienne about things. If toi don't like it, then there's a big red traverser, croix in the corner of your browser for that very reason.
Let the countdown begin!
9) Skumps
Yes, Skumps is really my favourite Sleeping Beauty song. But it still isn't very good. I don't really like any of the songs from Sleeping Beauty.
This one makes me laugh, and that's enough for me to rank it higher than the other songs in that film. The luth player = love. If only we all had a reckless musician who a volé, étole our wine, too. The fun we would have!
8) Heigh-Ho
I have to sing along to this song. Me and my Grandma were sat there last time I watched Snow White going "HEIGH-HO, HEIGH-HO, IT'S OFF TO WORK WE GO!" and then my Grandma started making up her own words and I was like "LOLWUT? Where did toi get that from?" and she was like "Aren't those the words?". Something about shovels and picks... She really is a weird woman.
Anyway, this is probably one of the most iconic songs ever. If someone mentions Snow White, this song gets flung into your mind like a catapulted rock. That's mainly thanks to Gremlins, but whatever. It's still a good and catchy song. It doesn't really have much point to it, but still. I like it.
7) Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
Oh. The classics all seem to have slumped at the bottom again. Whatever.
Who doesn't l’amour this song? It's silly and fun and a bunch of gibberish. Heck, it's about turning pumpkins into carriages, it's not supposed to make fucking sense! Cendrillon isn't exactly a film that makes toi go "LOL, FUNNY AS!" much but this song is a bit of good fun and that's why I like it.
6) Under The Sea
As much as I wanted to place it higher, this is where the decisions get hard and I l’amour pretty much all of the songs and don't want to place them low and want almost all of them to be top.
The hardest decision here though was picking my favourite The Little Mermaid song. HOW COULD I CHOOSE? I l’amour all of them. But in the end, I had to choose Under The Sea. It's catchy and fun (which seems to be becoming a theme here) and it's also sung par Sebastian who has one of the coolest voices ever. Whenever I think of The Little Mermaid, it's this song and this scene that dominates my mind and that's why it deserves to be called my favourite. I'm just sad that it's been beaten so easily. Damn you, other songs, for being so amazing!
5) Colours of The Wind
I know - I'm shocked too! How did this epic win of a song sink so low? Not only does it have a great message but the lyrics and musique are magical and toi just want to sing along and have a little dance. Oh, just me? Hmm, k.
When I was in primary school, we used to sing this song instead of hymns because we just did and everyone loved it and knew all the words. It was "OMGWOW, POCAHONTAS!" all the time. And so it should be. This film doesn't get half the appreciation it deserves but it could very easily be called Disney's magnum opus for this song alone. SO HOW THE HELL IS IT THIS LOW?
4) Be Our Guest
I didn't think this would ever get so high up the list, but whatever. I l’amour this song. Easily my favourite from BatB, closely followed par Gaston.
It's fun, it's sung par Lumiere (who is amaaaazing) and it makes me laugh. The dancing cutlery is so cool. There's a reason that this is the best part of the whole of BatB, toi know.
3) Down In New Orleans
I really couldn't choose one for PatF. I adore this film so much and the songs... OH, I CAN'T PICK ONE. I just had this one for the hell of it.
I made the stupid decision to listen to them all on YouTube to refresh my memory before I chose and that just made it worse. I really do l’amour them all. They're so jazzy and fun. I want to sing along to most of them and they give me that buzz inside of "OMG, EPIC WIN!" every time.
2) Prince Ali
As if the last choice wasn't hard enough, I'm then faced with picking one from Aladdin. THE SONGS IN Aladin ARE EPIC WIN IN A TIN. But I eventually had to go with Prince Ali.
This song was never really my favourite, but just recently it's been getting stuck in my head and I've found myself randomly going "PRINCE ALI, FABULOUS HE, ALI ABABWA!" and picturing Genie dancing around like a fool. But really, I wish I could pick them all. I just watched those on YouTue too (another bad decision, I know) and now I have this sort of warbled remix of them all playing in my head. The only song I don't really like in Aladin is A Whole New World. I just don't like it. Aladin sounds about 12 and all high-pitched in it. Blegh. If that song wasn't there, Aladin would have won this easily. But as it stands...
1) I'll Make A Man Out Of You
I can honestly say that I do not dislike a single song from Mulan. However, in this case, one does rise above the rest in such a high case of epic that no other song from a Disney Princess movie can even compare in the slightest.
THIS SONG IS SO AMAZING. No-one can truthfully say that they can watch that song and not sing along and do the big exagerrated actions that people do when they sing. This song is so amazing that we once walked into Science chant it full blast. It was so epic win. We were like "BE A MAN! MUST BE rapide, swift AS A COARSING RIVER! BE A MAN! WITH ALL THE FORCE OF A GREAT TYPHOON! BE A MAN!" and everyone was like "LOL WOW EPIC!" at us being fools. In fact, I am now sat at the keyboard chant it. And I haven't had any sort of audio ou visual prompting apart from my sheer passion for how awesomesauce this song is.
That's your lot. Be happy with it.
Something to post... Hmmmm... Here's a picture of my History folder. It's sort of colourful and stuff. It was plain and I wanted to jazz it up so I drew loads of pictures and stuck them on.
