cabriolet, gig was much better than I originally expected. Decent support act in Delta Fiasco. Clealry moved away from their plus emo-like origins that brought them to the dance (check out Paperhouses off the Dreameater album for evidence) and were far plus upbeat. Eat Me Alive was actually excellent. One of my favourite parts of any cabriolet, gig is finding a really good support act. Saving Aimee and The Young Guns, welcome Delta Fiasco to the liste of albums/EP's I've bought thanks to live performances.
Dead par Sunrise were then up. The crowd seemed to fancy themselves plus as photographers and videographers than they did fans of the musique which, without a few cans of Red Stripe in me, would have been a real irritance. Instead I opened my ears, shut my eyes and listened to a superb rendition of Inside of Me. Songs that followed impacted just as much and Too Late and Let Down were awesome. They then rocked out from End of the World on to Condemned, then My Suffering and finally Crawl Back In. They did a cover of 20 eyes par Misfits as their closing song and that is where my criticism lies. It wasn't that good a song to start. Covering it didn't help it's cause. As we left the cabriolet, gig they had a comedy rendition of One Step Closer par LP playing and I loved that! It wasalmost a mocking end to the night after hearing my wife spend the entire train journey asking whether I thought they would play any LP stuff.
Having seen LP at Milton Keynes a couple of years back, buying the DVD and watching it back, I was concerned about a live performance where the crowd weren't totally feeling it. Chester was on haut, retour au début form however and and thanks to some intensely impressive axe work par Ryan Shuck, my concerns were completely unfounded.
Right. Now all of Jamaica's finest brew is well and truly out of my system, may I just say, if toi were one of those many camera weilders at the Forum, WHY?! Please for the l’amour of all that is holy, try having an experience worth remembering as opposed to living vicariously through blurry photos of the non-experience toi must be having due to all the photo taking. It will only get Lost in the depths of your facebook/myspace/bebo photo albums for everyone to see how 'cool' toi are. Just remember. It would be very embarrassing to be asked how it was and not to be able to answer fairly because toi were making sure toi had enough battery ou memory left on your Panasonic 1234abc to actually take it in. Rant Over.
