I really don't know. I guess it depends on the writers' choices and also on how many percent of the fans won't even give it a chance just out of spite.

because the show without elena, is no show at all. and surely you know that. elena is the main character. and why should we give it a chance, when the writers have screwed us over time and time again. i think we are more than entitled too be spiteful and refuse to watch it after all the crap they have pulled. i have got no hatred towards nina at all, no. all my anger is directed at the writers. and i really wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them. they are born manipulators who couldnt care less about their fans, or characters. as long as they can profit from our misery, then thats all that matters to them. not the loyal, and supportive fanbase who has been with this show from day one, and that made them famous.
