They're her family, and besides, it's not like they would ever tell anyone. Didn't Emily teach them through this whole "Lauren" fiasco that it's better not to keep things from your teammates?

As much as it breaks my heart knowing that she's alive & that her family, friends & team can't know it's for her & their safety. It just has to be that way.

Witness protection allows you to know someone is alive in most cases, you just don't know where the person is. And the BAU people and ambassador Prentiss are pretty intelligent and know the ramifications of compromising a situation like this. But I guess Doyle is pretty relentless, if he knew she was alive he'd look for her although he may be too busy looking for his son now that he knows he's alive. Maybe when Doyle dies they will let people know Emily is not dead. It's a tough situation.

Doyle could easily gain access to the BAU's computer system and while her location probably wouldn't be on any computer files because no, they are not stupid, but regardless conversations could still be listened in on. Like a janitor or some other staff member could easily be bought off or threatened to bug the conference room or Garcia's office. It's just better for Emily that the team doesn't know. Now if Hotch could tell Ambassador Prentiss like in person in a disclosed location that Emily is alive then that would be okay. For now though how it was handled seems like the best option until they track Doyle down and eliminate him permanently.

No, it would be too dangerous for her. One of them may want to contact her, believing that they can do it smartly so that nobody knows, but I think she could be in danger after that.

Well, I guess the fewer people that know the less chance of it leaking out even tho these guys are professionals in that sort of field. But hotch had to know cuz he's the team leader, I mean how could he not know, and JJ the trusted former liason is no longer part of the team so she'd be harder to track or suspect of knowing so that's why she knows cuz someone had to make contact w Prentiss or whatever her name is now.(Wish we knew what her new name is!)
