Cus Johnny Depp is Johnny Depp but Gene Wilder sings about Pure Imagination.
What they said. :3
also was more like the book.
I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, but the remake was just...weird, and not in a good way. Mr. Depp seemed...well, I don't know, like a John Wayne Gacy-type clown, that's not really funny to begin with (we all know there's nothing funny about clowns), but who could go from regular creepy-clownness to pedophiliac cannibalism. Wow, that was way too in depth! Besides, the original had all those fantastic song-and-dance numbers (Pure Imagination, HELLO?!)! Plus, I just love Gene. So definitely Gene/the original.
No one can replace Gene. The scene of him walking out with a cane, losing it, and rolling into a dramatic pose is unbeatable.
Plus Depp gave off an aura that screamed 'pedophile'.
Johnny Depp didn't look much like that character muchless not near as funny.
