I believe in God for several reasons that would take too long to type out, but the main two reasons are 1) because I've experienced Him myself, and 2) life doesn't make sense without Him in the picture. I'm not sure if evolution is true ou not, and I honestly don't care. But I do know that science can only take toi so far. It réponses a lot of "how" questions, but not the "why" questions. That's where God comes in. toi could see evolution as a series of random, lucky coincidences and believe that this whole world somehow came together all par itself. But then, what would be the point of everything? If we're merely evolved animaux and the ultimate goal is surviving and evolving even more, then what about morality ou the basic concepts of Right and Wrong? Are they relative, things that society just accepts as "right" and "wrong"? If so, what's the point? ou are they absolute? If so, what makes them absolute? Or, toi could see evolution as the work of a Designer ou Creator. Someone who's putting all the puzzle pieces together to form a bigger picture. Someone who has a greater purpose for each atom and molecule, every cell, every star, every life. Someone who laid down all the laws of science and the rules of humanity at the very beginning. Someone who wants us to find Him and know Him through the evidence in His handiwork. The shadow proves the sunshine. The creation proves the Creator. And I think everyone at some point has experienced that strange, indescribable longing for something more, something greater than what we know...like you're homesick for a accueil you've never known. That longing is a very deep part of who we all are as human beings, and pretending it isn't there won't make it go away. Needs and desires exist because there are things designed to fulfill them. Where there is hunger, there is food. Where there is thirst, there is water. Where there is loneliness, there is love. The fact that I long for something beyond what I see is yet plus proof to me that He exists. Everyone has a God-shaped hole in their hearts, and only He can fill it. C. S. Lewis, auteur of The Chronicles of Narnia, talked about that a lot in his other books. He used to be a hard-core atheist, until God pwned him with his own logic. xD I highly recommend toi check some of them out, especially Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. Lewis was an expert in Christian apologetics, and he could explain everything to toi better than I ever could. (No, I'm not expecting toi to convert after lire them ou anything lol. I just think you'd find them interesting.) ^__^
