Heather supported Meg as they walked to the ICU. As soon as they headed for the door, the guard stepped closer to them.
“I cannot let toi pass” he a dit strict. “Not unless you’re close family”
Meg looked desperate at Heather who pulled her shoulders. Meg looked back at the guard. She couldn’t believe what she was going to say, but she did anyway.
“I’m his girlfriend”
“Five minutes” the guard a dit and he opened the door. Heather let go of Meg; she knew she had to stay outside. The guard closed the door behind Meg and Heather walked to mur and leaned against it.
Meg shuffled to the lit Cas was lying in. His body was attached to all kinds of machines. She had never seen him so helpless. Why had she left him alone? Why did she have to go to Heather? What had it gotten her? Nothing, except a shot wound and Cas being beaten to death. Tears filled her eyes, but she forced them back and swallowed to remove the crop in her throat.
She took his hand and produced a faint smile. “If this was a movie, you’d pinch my hand now” she a dit softly. “Unless it’s Snow White ou Sleeping Beauty and I have to Kiss toi back to life. I think toi would like that” she smirked nervous. “Or maybe it’s Beauty and the Beast and I have to tell toi I l’amour you…Which is never going to happen, because I don’t l’amour you”
She sounded like she tried to convince herself plus than Cas. “See what’s happening? I’m rattling about stupid fairytales” she said, looking up at Cas’ pale face. “You have to wake up. I’m going insane without you”
The door opened and the guard appeared. “Time’s up”
“Just give me a second” Meg replied. She took off her collier and put it in Cas’ hand. She bowed her head to his ear. “So you’ll know I was here” she whispered, before she turned around and left Cas alone.
