"Minor cuts... bruises on his..." Rex could here the doctors speaking with each other. His head was pounding and he couldn't remember anything past getting knocked out.
"Sir...?" Rex tried to get someone's attention.
"Rex, shhh!" It was Ahsoka, "sorry Rex, but toi have to be quiet!"
"What's going on?" Rex asked as he sat up.
"We linked up with another squad on patrol, we're lucky they showed up when they did, toi could have died!" Ahsoka a dit in a hushed voice.
"Sir... why are... We whispering?" He asked.
"We never made contact with HQ, and we don't know where the enemy is now, they could be listening now." Ahsoka said.
Rex stood up, "Ok, who's in command?"
"We'll, I am, but if toi mean a clone, Captain Axender is."
"Captain who?" Rex asked.
Ahsoka pointed over to a clone with red stripes on his arms and red markings on his chest. His casque had a visor on in that was some what torn up.
Rex walked up to the clone, "Hey Captain, thanks for the assist back there, toi were really an asset."
"No problem, but suivant time, be plus careful." The Captain said.
"You can count on it, so whats the situation?" Rex asked.
"Well the droids pushed us back to the plains, we Lost a squad trying to get back to the trees, but I think were fine now." Red walked over to the makeshift Situation Table, Rex followed.
"So how many men are in my company?" Rex asked.
"Well, toi Lost some, thats for sure, but I think you've some left."
Rex wondered about the men who died. Only a,few survived, none that he knew very well. That was the problem with war. toi could never get too close to people. He thanked god that Denal and Coric didn't go. They probrably wouldn't have made it either. Rex elt sick again so he decided to go lay down again.
He woke up to a loud explosion.
"Rex! Get up!" It was Ahsoka, "Rex wake up! There back!"
Rex lifted his head, he felt a little better. He reache over for his weapons just as ahnother explosion rattled the camp. "Sir, whats the situation?"
Ahsoka deflected some bolts, "A company of them are here, we barely heard them coming! AH! Its this planet! Its evil, I can't sense anything! Not even my master!"
"Sir, wheres Axender?!" Rex shouted.
"Over there! Come on!"
Rex followed Ahsoka to the Captain, who was taking feu behind some sand bags.
"Captain!" Rex shouted, "How are we doing?!"
Axender shot over the all, taking one down. "We got a least 70 of them coming, and another 50 waiting!"
Rex leaned over and shot, taking 3. "Wheres my troops?"
"Last I checked, they went to the mess. toi go get them, my men and I will hold em here!"
"Ok, Ahsoka stay here with Axender! I'll be back."
