Cal walked into Gillian’s office and pressed up against the wall. Once he heard the familiar click of her high heels, he silenced his breathing and stood still. Gillian walked inside the room and looked at Cal. She jumped a bit.
“My God, toi scared me,” Gillian breathed, holding a hand over her heart. She sat down at her bureau and gazed up at him. Cal smiled back at her.
“Sorry love, couldn’t resist. What are toi up to?” Cal asked, plopping down on her canapé and propping his feet up on the small coffee table, tableau that was beside it.
