In the end of season 5 when buffy died why wasn't another slayer activated?

After buffy died the first time Kendra came after Kendra died faith. Buffy died so it was if she was already dead so a new slayer wasn't activated. Hope I helped. Don't want to sound rude but would toi like to rejoindre th buffy season six icone contest???

Another Slayer wasn't activated after Buffy's death in season five because at that time Buffy no longer carried the Slayer line--Faith did. Kendra was activated after Buffy's death in season one, therefore Kendra held the Slayer line. After Kendra's death Faith was activated. Only Faith's death would activate a new Slayer. Although this fact was either forgotten ou overlooked in season seven when Buffy tells the Potentials that her (Buffy's) death could make one of them The Slayer. It is possible, however, that Buffy was merely trying to make a point with that statement and was not being literal.
