Bridge to Terabithia Bit confused MDR

Ok I was watching the film on a plane but my headphones broke so I couldnt here any of it but tried to go along with the plot lol But got confused, did the girl die? :S

yaa she did she went on the rope it broke she hit her head and drowned in the river

I read this book as a young child and had forgotten about it till just now my wife and 2 year old son are watching it and now that i think about it I don't think children should be allowed to read or watch this movie. really really sad. Matter if fact she just died i'm gonna cry.

yeah the rope was suppose to be enchanted and the rope broke and she drowns. hope that helps ya out
