"Booth. Booth, can toi hear me? I think he's coming to."
Booth groggily opened his eyes, blurry shapes crowding his vision. He blinked, and the figures came into focus.
"Oh, thank God," Angela breathed, her hand coming to her throat.
"Hey, man. How do toi feel?" asked Hodgens, his blue eyes glittering with concern.
"I am glad to see toi are recovering," Zach pronounced stiffly.
"Booth toi had us worried for a while. toi were barely hanging on when they found you," murmured Cam.
Booth breathed deeply and tried to remember what had happened. Pain...so much pain...Bones...Bones! He attempted to sit up, fumbling to get rid of all the needles and wires in him, causing machines to beep at him angrily. He had to get to her, he had to-
"Whoa, dude, what are toi doing?" exclaimed Hodgens. Hands rushed to restrain him, but Booth knocked them aside, grabbing the IV and wielding it in front of him. The team slowly backed away.
"You get out of my way. I'm going after Bones, and you're not going to stop me. Got it? Now move!" he growled through clenched teeth. They glanced at each other uncertaintly. Cam finally stepped forward.
"Now, Booth, I don't think that's such a good idea. You've been shot and have just woken up, you're critically injured, toi almost died, toi need some time to recover-"
"Leave me alone!" he shouted. "Where were toi when she needed you? At least I was there! I have to get her back. She's in danger, my Bones. My Bones! I have to get her back!" He swung his legs out of the hospital lit and stood up. But at soon as he tried to walk, Booth crumpled to the ground, what little strength he had had suddenly gone. Hopelessness and frustration welled up inside him, and he tried again to stand, but again he fell. When he tried to stand for a third time and fell for a third time, the Jeffersonian team rushed vers l'avant, vers l’avant and helped him get up. They tried to get him back into the hospital bed, but he fought their attempts. Finally, Angela Lost it and slapped Booth in the face. He stopped struggling and stared up at her, completely and utterly shocked. Anger, fear, and sorrow filled her beautiful dark eyes and salty tears trickled down her flawless face.
"Booth! Stop it! You're just hurting yourself more! This isn't what Brennan would want! If toi really l’amour her, then toi will wait and recover! The faster toi do that, the faster toi can go get her back for us. Understand?" her voice softened. "I wish I had been there to kick the guys who did this sorry butts. But I wasn't. toi were, and the first thing toi can do to help is to give me descriptions. We'll keep toi posté and as soon as we get a lead, I will personally let toi know. When we finally can go after these jerks, I promise toi can lead us in. She's my best friend, Booth, and I know toi l’amour her. So do this. Please. For Brennan."
Booth gazed at her and nodded slowly. Angela smiled slightly and wiped the tears off her face. "Good." She stood up and made her way to Hodgens, who wrapped her in his arms and gave her a Kiss on the forehead.
"Daddy!" Parker ran in then, Rebecca and her boyfriend walking in behind him.
"Hey, buddy," Booth smiled weakly, quickly trying to replace the needles and tubes that he had pulled out. Rebecca raised an eyebrow but a dit nothing.
"Daddy, look what I made!" Parker held up a drawing of himself, Brennan, and Booth standing in front of the Royal Diner, Booth smiled and ruffled his son's hair. "This is great, bud. Can I keep it?" Parker nodded eagerly, but his happy expression quickly changed to concern. "Daddy, what happened? Are toi gonna die?"
"No, Parker, I'm not going anywhere. I'd miss toi too much! I just got into a bit of trouble with someone, but we're taking care of all that. Okay?" His son nodded and looked around the room.
"Hey, where's Auntie Bones?" he asked. Suddenly and uneasy silence filled the room, tension beginning to spark. Booth sighed heavily.
"Parker, Bones is missing. She's been taken par a bad man. That's how I got hurt. I went to find her and that man didn't want me doing that. But we're going to find her."
Sorrow filled the young boy's gaze. "I hope she'll be okay," he whispered. Rebecca reached for her son's hand.
"C'mon, Parker. We're going to go get something to eat."
"But I want to stay with Dad!" he protested, pulling at his mother's grip.
"It's okay, buddy. I'll still be here tomorrow and toi can see me then, okay? Go on, now. l’amour you."
"Love toi too, Dad." And they left. Brennan's associates stepped forward. "Booth, we need to know all that happened," a dit Cam.
"And I need descriptions for facial recognition," added Angela.
"I know. All right. So I pulled up to the parking lot and people were running out screaming. I got my gun, went inside, and saw Bones and Max Keenan being taken par two men. They saw me, the one with the scar shot me, and they took them away."
"Keenan was there, too? God, Booth, what are we dealing with?" gaped Angela.
"I don't know. But one of them, Scarface, was tall, had dark brown hair, dark eyes, and a scar on his left cheek. He seemed to be the ringleader. The other, Goatee, had sandy blonde hair, a or hoop in his right ear, and a goatee and mustache."
"Like this?" Angela held up her sketches.
"Scarface, he's plus thickset. And his scar is plus jagged, like this. Yeah, that's right. And that's Goatee."
Satisfied, Angela put her sketches away. "We're going to find her, Booth. I promise."
"I know. I just hope that we get there in time."
Cam laid a hand on Booth's shoulder. "Rest up, Seely. toi need to be able to walk if you're going to lead us into the field with you."
"Wait, toi guys aren't-"
"Yeah, we are. Brennan's family to us. We're not gonna stand on the sidelines this time," insisted Hodgens.
Booth smiled. "Thanks, all of you."
"Well, it wouldn't be right to make one handle such a situation on his own," replied Zach.
"Yeah, I guess so."
Booth groggily opened his eyes, blurry shapes crowding his vision. He blinked, and the figures came into focus.
