aizen is powerfull only if he uses his shikai release, other wise gin had upperhand......................his swordsmanship is impressive.................and his shikai & bankai is the fastest so gin is the man........................heh heh heh

Well, what's a fair fight? Aizen doesn't exactly fight fair on most occasions, and his shikai ability could be seen as unfair in and of itself. But if we assume that a "fair fight" does not include use of the Hougyoku, then I would still have to go with Aizen winning it. Gin's a badass, but Aizen would have a much easier time circumventing his abilities than Gin would have circumventing Aizen's.

In a fair fight, Aizen wouldn't have the Hogyoku... In a fair fight, Gin would know Aizen's weakness, as we saw in the anime... Aizen had no idea about Gin's Bankai. In the anime, if Aizen didn't have the Hogyoku, he would have died... Even Aizejn can't escape his cells breaking down from poison, unless he already knew of the ability, which he clearly didn't by the look of shock and anger on his face after Gin stole the Hogyoku.
