Does getting your ears pierced hurt?

After years of chickening out, I've finally decided to get my ears pierced for the first time ever, but I'm a bit worried about it hurting. My Friends keep telling me I've not got anything to worry about and it doesn't hurt at all, but I'm not sure if I believe them ou not as they've been on at me for ages to get them done and I don't know of they're just saying that so I'll get them done.

So can anyone tell me what it feels like to get your ears pierced? Does it hurt? What does it feel like as your ears are being pierced? Do toi actually feel the earring as it goes through your ear, ou is it all over so quickly toi don't feel a thing (as my Friends keep telling me)? And once they have been pierced, do toi feel the earrings there in your ears all of the time, ou do toi forget about them being there?

Maybe its different for different people, but when I had my ears pierced when I was 15, it didn't hurt at all. Although the sound of the gun did make me jump a little, as it was quite loud, I didn't actually feel anything at all as the earrings went through my ears. Sure they did feel a little bit warm for a few minutes afterwards, but that was it, no pain at all. All I felt for each ear was the gun grip my earlobe (just a gentle squeeze), then there was the sound of the gun, and then I felt the gun release my earlobe - and that was it.

And no, toi don't feel them there in your ears all of the time. Once they're in, toi quickly forget they are there, apart from when toi see yourself in the mirror ou touch your ears, and then toi remember that you've now got pierced ears. It's a bit of a strange realization at first, but toi soon get used to it and it becomes just quite normal.
