Buffy and Angel

Ok so I’m finally écriture my thoughts up on this matter!

I am focusing my attention on Bangel as it is the couple i do know best, so please any Spuffiers out there write one explaining the Spuffy era.

As I am not the best with grammar I have decided to keep it simple par splitting it up into short sections, also so I don’t start my famous rambling and go on and on one point for years

Buffy and Angel first meet in the first ever Buffy The Vampire Slayer Episode (Welcome To The Hellmouth). She does not realise he is a vampire until a mid season in the episode ‘Angel’, where they share a Kiss and it forces him to change to his vampire face. After finding out parts of his past they continue to grow close and a passionate relationship builds.
They start dating in early season 2.

Angel: My people -- before I was changed -- they exchanged this as a sign of devotion. It's a claddagh ring. The hands represent friendship, the crown represents loyalty, and the heart...well, toi know. Wear it with the cœur, coeur pointing towards you. It means toi belong to somebody.

Then after their first night of passionate relations (Surprise/Innocence), Angel experiences a true moment of happiness which breaks his gypsy curse and reverts him back into his evil side Angelus. Buffy spends the rest of season 2 fighting away her ex lover and her feelings towards him whilst he continues to harass her.
Finally in a dramatic season finale Angelus Spike and Drusilla decide to awaken the demon Acathla and bring about the end of the world and Willow and Buffy discover the curse that Jenny Calendar was working on before Angelus killed her, and so they attempt to curse him again. This fails and so Buffy realises that she must now kill her ex lover to save to world, however just before she is about to kill Angelus and send him straight to hell Willow manages to restore his soul, however it is too late so Buffy faces her hardest challenge to date, having to kill the man she loves in order to save the world!

Buffy: Stay with me.
Angel: Forever. That's the whole point. I'll never leave. Not even if toi kill me.

After running away to LA and then returning Buffy still couldn’t tell her Friends what really happened that night with Angelus/Angel and keeps it a secret until Giles tricks it out of her to determine the real reason why she left. The just as she was getting over Angel and starting to déplacer on he drops from the sky, and after being tortured for hundreds of years in a hell dimension he acts nothing plus than an animal would. Buffy discovers him when looking for a creature who has been clawing the skin off people in Sunnydale. She restores his sanity and decides to keep him a secret which eventually comes out when Xander spots them smooching in the old mansion.

Angel: toi still my girl?
Buffy: Always

Angel: In 243 years, I have loved exactly one person.

After again another an of on again off again, will they wont they romance, with Faith the rouge slayer getting in the way a few times as well, and Angel having to drink Buffy Blood to save he leaves for LA so that Buffy can live a decent normal life.
The suivant time we see a Buffy Angel reunion is in the series Angel (I Will Remenber You), he had just visited Sunnydale to keep an eye on Buffy yet she was the only one who didn’t know he was there so decided to follow him back to LA and ask him what the hell was he thinking. After a demon attack who restores Angel human side, Buffy and Angel rekindle their love, but when Angel realises that he is not strong enough anymore to help protect Buffy he realises that he must reverse time and never be with Buffy again, to save the world. This resulted in one of the saddest Buffyverse goodbyes.
He pops up again in season 4 of Buffy when he comes back to Sunnydale (The Yoko Factor) to try and mend his relationship with Buffy after their récent confrontation over Faith (Angel, Sanctuary), and ends up exchanging blows with Riley instead.
When Joyce’s funeral he appears again, this time to comfort her as she worries how her mothers death will affect her life. They then share a sweet Kiss but both pull away realising they cant have that anymore. He then stays with here until sunrise

Angel: I can stay in town as long as toi want me.
Buffy: How's forever? Does forever work for you?

He then appears one last time on Buffy and has a very interesting conversation with a cookie dough analogy (from Buffy) describing why she has Spike in her cœur, coeur but we Bangel fans still do see that glimpse of hope!

Buffy: Angel. I do. Sometimes... think that far ahead. We both have our lives, but...sometimes...
Angel: Sometimes is something.
Buffy: It'd be a long time coming. Years, if ever.
Angel: I ain't gettin' any older.

nosemuffin You did a very good job, great article. I'm also not a Bangel fan, but I appreciate on some level how their relationship enriched the overall mythology of the show. I am happy for all of you Bangel fans that in the last episode, Joss gave you guys a crumb with the cookie dough conversation, but I also feel that it was kind of a cop out in terms of who Buffy wanted to be with. By not committing to one of them, he left hope open for all, rather than having to be the bad guy to half of fan base. I understand that Boreanaz wanted to make one last appearance on the show, as it was ending and had launched his career, but I felt that his presence there was unrealistically handled and unnecessary.

scififan Good article! If you'd like to post it on the Bangel spot, I'm sure we Bangel fans would enjoy it...and you would be our first "official" soapbox. It was good to read the history in condensed form and you did a good job not rambling :) Great 1st soapbox!! Yeah Joss sort of left who Buffy would commit to open...maybe Bangel will resume through the comics. That would be great :) Bangel was the only couple I really got emotionally involved in, and I miss that. I miss the crying, the laughing, the rejoicing, the depression that lasted for days after Angel's "death" in season 2 and his leaving in season 3. I was so angry at him, I wouldn't watch Angel till after I finnished the Buffy series. I still enjoy TV, other couples, and enjoy other shows...I can even get into Spuffy a little. But Bangel was something special. Thanks for reminding me why.

adwbuffy I admire your article on Bangel

april_showers This is a really nice reminder of why we all love Bangel! (Well, some of us, anyway!) The passion, the love, the sacrifice, the devotion.... It's the TV relationship that I have been the most emotionally involved in, and I get emotionally involved in ships very easily! But something about Bangel transcends all other ships for me, it's something really special and beautifully portrayed I think :) I'm not sure I agree that Joss didn't commit to one or the other at all, as I think the last episode shows the way in which Buffy & Angel will always come back to each other and that, for Buffy, Angel is the one she wants for the long-term, if she is ever in a position to have that kind of relationship. However, I also recognise Spuffy's importance to the show, and I liked what developed between them in season 7. While I think that the last episode recognised that for Buffy, Angel will always be the forever guy, it was important also to honour the growing bond between her and Spike, and I think it's good in a way that Joss didn't just come out and say: Buffy chooses Angel/Spike. While obviously I would have been thrilled to have had Buffy and Angel riding off into the sunset together lol (though obviously not literally as this would prove rather fatal for him :p), I think it's right that Joss left a bit of something in there for both Spuffy and Bangel shippers. I think it would have been cruel and quite disrespectful to the fan base that had kept the show going to dash the hopes of one half of it, so I can see where he was coming from, and I think it's good that everyone can take from it what they want.

dreamdelights Not taking away from the Spuffy fans but answer this question if buffy was able to have a physical realationship with Angel would he have Left? I don't think so Spike was there for her in a time in her life when he needed her. He will be in heart but in the end if she had to choose it would be Angel. David and Sarah said the same thing as well as James.

'Out Of My Mind" Spike's dreadful dream about Buffy

So ok, I know this article is similar to ones at Spuffy spot. It's not its about Spike's obession over Buffy. Now when I watched the epsiode in season 5 "Out Of My Mind", in the end of the epsiode Buffy came to see Spike to kill him. But Spike wanted her to kill him. He decides to Kiss instead. Just we all that it was Spike's dream that he had about the slayer.

When Spike realizes that he actually loves the slayer. He figures out how to talk to her.Starts being the stalker around Buffy.Like stealing her clothes, pictures all over his crupt that is down the sewers? Then Buffy figures out the...
