High in the mountains, a great horde gathers; Morgana prepares for war with a vengeful Mordred at her side.
Merlin feels the weight of his destiny like never before as the ancient prophecies play out with terrifying accuracy. But before he can save his beloved Camelot, he must save himself. For it is not just the kingdom Morgana wishes to destroy" it is also Emrys.
Do not miss this penultimate episode in the epic final series of Merlin.
Colin Morgan is Merlin

John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon
Alexander Vlahos is Mordred
Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, and Eoin Macken are The Knights of the Round Table.
5x13 synopsis here:
And so it seems the Prophets did not lie. As the great battle rages on Camlann's mighty plain, Merlin faces his moment of destiny.
Can he find the strength to save the man he made a King; the Camelot they fought to build; and the brotherhood they shared?
Don't miss the very last episode of Merlin as the legend draws to a spectacular and emotional end.
Colin Morgan is Merlin
Bradley James is Arthur
Angel Coulby is Gwen
Katie McGrath is Morgana
Richard Wilson is Gaius
John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon
Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, and Eoin Macken are The Knights of the Round Table.
I imagine the final words on his lips will be "Guinevere" and I'm crying already.
It has to be a happy ending for me, please.
Like everyone is worrying about, there just may be no magic reveal. That would be horrible. And like BB said, if there is, it will be rushed and we'll never get to see A/M dynamics with Arthur knowin.
They've rather made Merlin's character a tragic one IMO.
I don't want these people ruining my Christmas.
The following things would be unacceptable:
-No magic reveal
-Dead Arthur/Camelot's fall (they could justify that they've had 3 years of peace that we didn't see. I would have liked to have seen some happy Camelot, wouldn't you?)
-Great dragon doing bugger all to help
-Morgana living.
I think this next episode where it showed them having to leave Mordred behind is going to be the twist in the plot to turn Mordred against Arthur and Camelot. There is so much going on in this end it is almost like you want to hold on to your seat during the episode or you might miss something.
It would be nice for Gwen to become pregnant
Arthur to unite the five kingdoms because this is supposed to happen before he dies
Merlin to have his magic reveal and be respected as he should be
Merlin's level of power demonstrated as being the most powerful warlock to walk the face of the earth as prophesied and not hiding. I would like to see him using more of his elemental magic slowing down time, bringing on storms, rattling the earth. Things Morgana cannot do without the use of spells and things Merlin can do at will.
Hunith appearance one last time
There is just so much left to see and we are already at episode 9. I do not know how they plan on cramming everything into the last few episodes but that is what they get paid the big bucks for.
Can he find the strength to save the man he made a King; the Camelot they fought to build; and the brotherhood they shared?
They say there must balance in the life cycle. A life for a life. Merlin gives his life to save Arthur's. His job was maybe lay the groundwork for Arthur to build Albion. Arthur with his queen Guinevere continue, so to pass Albion to Arthur's heir (or heiress).
I still want justice served - Morgana goes out with a public execution. She finally answers for her crimes. A battlefield death is too good for her.
The legends never place Merlin to watch Arthur die but to come either at the end or to speak to him in his final words as Merlin was trapped or ambushed. If he is by his side I think he will be able to protect him but if they capture him there will be no magic to help on Arthur's side.
Arthur will have to accept magic somehow because I cannot see Merlin sneaking to use magic in an open fight against Mordred and Morgana. He will also have to confess to being a Dragon Lord if Kilgharrah gets involved.
In the episode with Nimueh, she dealt a fatal blow to Merlin and he was able to get right up after a moment.
Last week Merlin used magic after being poisoned and started throwing up. I think that a normal person would have been dead by the time the boy came back to help. I think his magic helped to sustain him a little while longer there too.
I do not think he can die as easily as people think. He may not be immortal but I think his magic sustains him in the healing process quickly since he was born with his.
Again, I do not wish to see Arthur or Merlin dead. Nor Gwen or Gauis. It was bad enough to watch Elyan die, we do not need any more but if there is a great battle at Camlann there is going to be some tragic moments.
