Can toi take a wild guess that this is one of THOSE people...yes, I don't even need to identify. But as always, always, logic defies idiocy. Watch this most entertaining screaming match, since that is what the twit in question resorts to, while the Arwenite states truth bomb after truth bomb. Watch as the juvenile resorts to trophée and the F Word...while the Arwenite keeps handing them their ass. Most entertaining and yes, your friend EPaws can be a bitch. She does so wonder when liars, cheats, and haters, basically the ugly of nature will ever realize TRUTH HURTS but only the insipid. I will make a double l’espace between twit and well thought out discourse. Read On:

The Actual Confession:

It puzzles me to hear things like: “I l’amour Arthur, I l’amour Gwen but I can’t/I don’t l’amour Arwen, it’s forced.” Does it mean that toi l’amour Gwen for toi find her lovable, but Arthur can’t do it? toi have the right to l’amour her but toi deny him this right? toi can l’amour Arthur, but Gwen has no right to do it? Gwen is lovable as a humble sidekick friend, but as a woman, she’s unworthy of men’s l’amour ou especially of Arthur’s love? She’s lovable as a servant but not as Arthur’s beloved queen, for it is forced?

And we are off:

i personally think Arwen had so much potential, but the writes made it go way to fast… one episode arthur is just “you servant girl” and the suivant is the “OH GWEN I LOVE, I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU!” i like Arthur and Gwen in the legends, but the way Arthur and Gwen are in this series… its just forced. The writers didnt spend much time trying to develop their relationship with each other, it just happened. so thats why i hate Arwen in this series. :/ just because the writers put no back story to them and were just kind of like “NOW. BE TOGETHER.”

~~~
Actually, when Arthur was sick and Gwen kept vigil par his bedside, it’s clear that he started thinking of her differently. Then there was that episode where he stayed in her house and was so rude to her, she ended up telling him off, which he liked. He didn’t actually admit to being in l’amour with her until a an ou so had passed in Merlin’s time frame (since they skip a an between seasons).
I’m kind of annoyed that people keep incorrectly citing the legends to support weak points. In the so-called legends, Guinevere isn’t that well-developed and neither is their l’amour story. In fact, in many interpretations, Arthur falls in l’amour with Guinevere at first sight.
At least in Merlin, they have some kind of history before he notices her romantically.
~~~

i just personally think it could have been plus developed… they started it off with Arthur/Morgana, and then Merlin/Gwen. i just think it was forced with the way they treated it. like toi said… in the legends Arthur fell in l’amour with her at first sight, if something were like that in the show, i would have been fine with it… but i didnt. they didnt get into the Arwen shipping until the end of the 1st season with the Gwen starting to like Arthur out of know where (i didnt even ship merthur then, and i was still “WHAT THE FUCK WHERE DID THIS COME OUT OF” and all of the 2nd season, and even then it went from Arthur calling Gwen a servant girl and Gwen liking Merlin to the suivant episode were Gwen all the sudden started to like and have “feelings” for Arthur… idk… and im not just saying this because im a Merthur shipper, i didnt start shipping Merlin/Arthur till the 3rd season, and even way before that i found the Arwen relationship forced. if they worked there way into it better i wouldnt have a problem with it.

like in the 2nd season around what is it… the 2nd episode… Arthur barely has shown any connect ou ANYTHING maybe ONE thing with Gwen that would montrer them that they could be a couple, and already hes saying that he loves her and wants to marry her… even IF a an has gone by, THERES NO PROOF we dont get to see anything they went through, thus making it seemed forced. and this is just MY opinon, to each their own P:

The OP is accurate because Arwen exist in the show, their l’amour story is a main part of the show, they are a canon pairing and not a fans’ fantasy. In S1, Arthur was a boy who had feelings only for his sword, he even called women problems and troubles (see S1x05) When he became a man that has plus than kindergarten interest in women, he naturally chose Gwen, who yourself find LOVABLE and worthy of Arthur’s love, isn’t it? And who, par the same time, became a WOMAN (self-confident, wise, highly feminine…) while she was just a young girl in S1. She took care of him when he was wounded and called him back to life in (1x13), she showed faith in him when he had doubts (1x10), she saved his life when his men fled in left him behind in (2x01) she had the courage to tell him the truth in (2x02) while most people of subaltern station display hypocrisy ou literally fall in a swoon before “The Prince” because they are unable to see the man. How could he not fall in l’amour with her for heaven’s sake!!! Though he had doubts and expressed them and he took time to accept the real nature of his own feelings and Gwen too. Of course toi can choose to overlook all this, when toi simply don’t want to see it, but then forced, Forced, FORCED???? Since when l’amour is something logical ou has to obey any kind of logic ou a feeling ruled par logic ???? Since when two people falling in l’amour anytime ou declaring their love, is something forced? What is it mean to tell a couple “You guys are in love! NO NO NO, your feelings are forced because it doesn’t seem logic” ???? THANK toi OP.

~~~
i dont care if its a main part of the show. THERE RELATIONSHIP COULD HAVE BEEN WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY plus DEVELOPED IN MY OPINION. the writers of the montrer went from season 1 Arthur toi know the guy who loves his sword and makes like girls are trouble and everything, it doesnt explain that throughout the 2nd season and all the sudden is BAM Arthur/Gwen. if they would have spent the 2nd season developing their relationship i could care less. it happened way to fast for me to even like it. no i dont think Gwen is “unworthy” of Arthurs love. she has just as much right to it as everyone. the way we MERTHUR shippers mean par “its forced” we mean it par 2 reasons.
#1: we dont like the way their relationship moved so fast. it went from hating each other to “OMG I NEVER WANT TO BE WITHOUT YOU”
#2: the writers are just trying WAY to hard to get people ou excuase me… US MERTHUR SHIPPERS to except it.
i wouldnt care so much if their relationship was WAY plus developed then forced onto us like “HERE. HAVE ARTHUR/GWEN. NOW LIKE IT.”
also… just the way they made Gwens character throughout this whole thing, she used to be the one everyone looked to, the best friend, the helper, the fighter, and all that, and now, shes mostly viewed as JUST Arthurs l’amour interest. which i HATE because i want her to be the one out and fighting.
SO THATS THAT.
~~~

Once again: Of course toi can choose to overlook all this, when toi simply don’t want to see it, but then forced, Forced, FORCED???!!! Since when l’amour is something logical ou has to obey any kind of logic ou a feeling ruled par logic ???? Since when two people falling in l’amour anytime ou declaring their love, is something forced? What is it mean to tell a couple “You guys are in love! NO NO NO, your feelings are forced because it doesn’t seem logic” ????.

~~~~
IM NOT SAYING THEIR FUCKING l’amour IS FORCED.
WHAT IM SAYING IS HOW THE WRITERS CHOSE TO HANDLE THEIR RELATIONSHIP.
toi SEEM TO BE THE ONE OVERLOOKING EVERYTHING I JUST WROTE.
~~~

Thanks for your courtesy, it seems toi didn’t understand my post, neither l’amour nor the way people fall in love, have to obey any kind of logic. Since when two people falling in l’amour anytime and in any way possible ou at any pace can be called forced? What is it mean to tell a couple “You guys are in love! NO NO NO, the way and the pace at which toi fell in l’amour are forced because they don’t seem logical, so I don’t believe you” ????.

~~~
ITS A FUCKING SHOW. THIS ISNT REAL LIFE. the way the writers handled the pace! can toi go from hating some one to loving them in a course of barely talking to them? and plus people in real life fall in l’amour GRADUALLY. now tell me…
have toi ever hated a person, and then like “I l’amour THEM!” without barely having any connect with them?
~~~

First Gwen didn’t hate Arthur, she even had high expectations in him since S1x03, then in S1x10, S1x13 and even in S2x02 and she expressed it and saw greatness in him when he wanted to prove his worth as a man without a crown on his head in S2x02. She was infuriated par his behavior and she also saw greatness in him when he showed contrition, when he asked for her forgiveness despite her “rank”, but once again toi can choose to overlook all this. Merlin is a montrer and they say “Art imitates life” and in RL toi can’t explain why nor how people fall in l’amour ou at which pace they do, it’s impossible to call the way ou the pace at which people fall in l’amour “Forced” because l’amour doesn’t obey “logic”. Once again thanks for toi courtesy<3
