Mainly since its my overall favorite anime. But I also like Naruto/Shippuden, One Piece and Bleach. Never saw Dragon Ball Z.

I honestly like them all equally.

Sword Art Online and Code Geass is big too I would've picked either of them if they were on this list!

@clarissa2015/applebear123. Those series weren't included because the 'big 5 anime ' generally refer to the series that are the most known/talked about and have the most sales in Shonen Jump, which is the 'Big 3' including DBZ & Fairy Tail.

Dragonball Z is the greatest Anime of all time.
That is a fact, like it or not.
However, just because it is "The greatest", it's not necessarily the best.
Best is opinion, greatest is fact.

Fairy Tail is LIFE! Literally... it was my very, VERY first anime.

@AM_Scarecrow. No, that's not necessarily true. Yeah Dragonball Z might be the most influential and iconic series, but it's a stretch to say it's the 'greatest anime of all time'. It has run it's course, inspired many new shonen series, but later on, a new series might come out and perhaps 'surpass' DBZ. I respect DBZ for what it has inspired, but no, that's not a fact, like it or not. When someone thinks of a series as the 'best anime', they're going to think it's the 'greatest anime ever', which is fine. But that's because it's only an opinion, not a fact. 'Greatest' and 'Best' are actually perceived as similar, if not the same, in cases like these. I actually love Naruto and think it's the best/greatest anime ever, but I know that's only my opinion, not a fact. And this is asking which series you like best, not which is the "greatest anime". Tl;dr: Realistically, there really is no such thing as "the greatest anime ever", there's just opinions. That is all~
