Well, this one has been on the chopping block for a while, and, since its October, and since this animé is kind of a horror animé (Thought, that's debatable) I think now is the best time to talk about the anime, Highschool of the Dead.
Now, this is the first animé that has zombies in it. Now, I l’amour anything with zombies, from games, like Left 4 Dead, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Dead Rising, films like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, and Land of the Dead, and télévision shows like The Walking Dead........ Okay, so thats the only montrer I know that has zombies in it. But, when I heard there was an animé with zombies, All I could think of was "FUCK YES"..... Sadly, what I got was an animé that focused plus on boobs and panty shots rather then zombies...... Damn shame.
Now, this montrer has your average cast of characters. toi got Takashi, the protagonist, Rei, the l’amour interest, Saeko, the femme fatal, Saya, the smart ass, Kohta, the comic relief, Arisu, the cute little kid, Zero, the animal companion, and Shizuka, the....... Totally fucking pointless character. Seriously, what is the point of Shizuka? Everyone else has a purpose, what the hell is yours. I guess she is supposed to be the sexy eye candy, but, really, why. Every other girl has breasts the size of lait jugs (No pun intended) That we got plenty of sex relief. Though, I guess she is needed for the uncensored bath scene, but really, THAT is her purpose? She could have, and most definitely SHOULD have been cut from the show.
Another thing is that WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH ALL THE SE APPEAL!!! Literally, as if short skirts weren't enough, they go from skirts, to short shorts, to underwear, to fucking suds from soap. toi can just hear creepy horny fans touching themselves from episode six.
Okay, so, after that burst of rage, I should talk about the plot. The plot is where the entire world is under attack par zombies and the main characters try to survive it. Even though, the animé is called HIGHSCHOOL of the Dead, they are only in a high school for the first 2 episodes, after which, they are gone from there and are.... elsewhere.
Now, I do have to give the animé some credit, the fight scenes are pretty cool and well done. I mean, it seems they put plus effort into the fight scenes then other stuff..... Except for trying to have massive fan service..........
Anyway, I think the biggest problem is the fact of how these are high school kids, yet they can easily go through waves of zombies, yet they never had any experience. Sure, I can understand some of them, but, others, I mean, my god, the outbreak started literally secondes il y a and already toi can fight like your Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris and shit.
Though, another good thing is that I like how it shows side character who are going crazy due to the outbreak, montrer that even humanity is the survivors enemy here just as much as the undead. I mean, literally, toi have crazy protesters, corrupt cops, angry mobs of batshit crazy people, insane thugs, and..... pedophile teachers? I'm not even going to dwell into that plot line.
And, I think that there is something lots of us can agree on. That theme song is just fucking awesome. Its one of the best animé openings I have ever heard, and I could listen to it all day. It's just amazing and it fits well with the tone. Hell, almost all the musique fits well with this anime. I think we can all agree that the musique fits well with this animé when it is used at certain moments.
Wish I had plus to say, but, I think I a dit all I can say. Now, about the animé overall. Is it good. Yeah, I guess. I mean, its not the best animé I have ever seen, but it definitely isn't the worst. Fuck you, School Days, I still fucking hate you. Overall, if toi want an animé with lots of action, drama, and insanity..... ou if your just a horny fanboy, then, this is pretty good, but, for others, I think you'd be better off with something else.
