It's about a high school student getting a notebook that can kill people par just écriture their name in it. So he uses it to make the world a better place par killing all the criminals. But a detective named L is trying to catch him because he is a murderer. i know that is a suckish way of explaining it but that basically what it's about. But either way it's addictive.

He then meets a shinigami with a serious pomme addiction and battles an insane, yet oddly awesome detective.
