Well toi see, the meaning of Japanese names changes depending on the kanji used. So for example "yuki" can be written 雪(snow) ou 由希(reason, hope) as with Yuki Sohma in Fruits Basket. "ichigo" can be written 苺 as in fraise ou 一護 as in the kanji for "one" and "protect."
And the possible combinations of kanji for a single name is pretty much endless.
