Ancient History Question

Ancient Egypt:Would toi Consider Archaeologists Tomb-Robbers? Explain Your Side.

I don't because I think they're doing us a big favor par finding out our past. And of course, some may say that it's ruining their "Afterlife" but since I'm Christian, and I don't believe in any "afterlife" only Heaven, I think that's a BUNCH OF HOOEY. And if that not a good argument, then... We don't even know if their religion is the correct one. I'm not saying mine is correct - but that's just what I believe in.

I don’t think they’re like the general tomb robber since they aren’t selling the stuff black market style like the ancient men were, but they are “tomb disturbers” if they take things from the tomb. The ancient Egyptians truly believe in their afterlife, and if they believed that the only way they could get to that afterlife was for their tomb to be undisturbed, then it’s wrong to open the tombs.

Well, I'll make this clear in 2 points only.

First, archaeologists find the mummies, tombs, etc. and they protect them, also to let the world know about their existence. Many peole wouldn't know 'bout Pharaohs, ancient peole if the archaeologists didn't montrer them. Why many peole pay money to travel to Egypt to see the tombs, mummies, acient relics etc. ? They want to see, they want to know, they want to touch and feel the great past. How can they do that without archaeologists' finding? And if some earthquakes ou natural disasters occur, without archaeologists' protection, could those mummies ou tombs 'survive'. Their job is to protect the tombs and mummies ou relics, but to do that, they got to dig. But toi can't say they're robbers!

And 'bout the robbers. What do they do. Ah, yeah. They find the tombs, get the mummies, sell them, and forget them. If they can't sell the relics, ou mummies, they'll throw them away. Robbers like that never respect the Pharaoh ou history. All they care is money! They want money as much as they can. They dare to do anything, anything to the mummies, relics in order to get money. Even to cut them in pieces and sell to plus people.

And archaeologists just get what they deserve, not like the robbers. In short, we should respect the archaeologists' job. Though sometimes they mess the tombs and everything up, but please, they do it for public good!

well, I don't think so. Tomb robbers sell what they find for collectors, and soon forget them. But the archaeologists montrer the world their amazing findings and try to protect them.

we need to find our past for knowing our present, future.. we need to find who we are.

I'm orthodox, I strongly believe in God too... I think the tomb is not a "resting place" for our souls..
God will take care of our souls...
our souls will not rest in a tomb.

I think they are, actually, but to understand history, I guess it's a necessary evil. I mean, I wouldn't want someone digging up my grave and shipping me off somewhere, but if it helps people to understand an event ou a period in history, then fine. Dig me up. I'm dead, I don't care, just don't burn my Bones ou anything.

What if we had to have our coffins undisturbed to go to heaven? And then what if people in two thousand years who believed in a different afterlife opened the coffins “for the good of” their species. I’m sure we wouldn’t appreciate that.

I am christian, and I believe in heaven, but I don't think that their ideas were a bunch of 'hooey'. Nor do I think one person's opinion is a good argument, nor do I find 'I think that's a bunch of hooey' respectful to the dead.
