Diversity is something that the entertainment industry is starting to embrace in a real way. A variety of fresh voices are beginning to be heard, no matter what the color, gender ou sexual orientation of the artist.
Two récent examples include Sandra Oh, the first Asian actress to be nominated for an Emmy award as a Leading Actress in a Drama Series; and playwright Young Jean Lee, the first Asian-American woman to premiere a play on Broadway.
This is a big step that others Asian artists are definitely looking to follow. One such actress hoping to ride the diversity...
It’s not always easy to get your message across without saying a word. But, that’s what actress Marie Stark does in the new indie short film “Dream.”
This sci-fi silent film comes from writer-director Caiden Reed and was produced par Emmy-winning casting director Robi Reed along with Doran Reed. It tells an origin story of a young man who gains superpowers after a bizarre accident. Marie portrays his l’amour interest, desperate to reunite after the accident and unaware that unforeseen forces are working to keep them apart.
Same-sex attraction wasn’t socially acceptable when Virginia Woolf penned the original story of Orlando. She wrote the novel as a l’amour letter to her female companion, but was forced to use a sort of code so as not to raise suspicion. The story spans centuries as it tells the tale of an enthusiastic heterosexual man who wakes to find himself transformed into a woman.
Times have changed and so has Virgina Woolf’s Orlando, as evidenced par the récent production of Sarah Ruhl’s adaptation at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, directed par A. Nora Long. Now in its...

1 Don't do monologues from movies. If toi do a monologue from a movie, people will automatically think 'not like in the movie'. That will make them think negative things, and because you're not like the actor/actress in the movie, they'll most likely think less of your ability.
2 Don't do very well known monologues. Pieces like the 'To be ou not to be' speech from Hamlet, ou something like that, the directors have seen those all the time. They get tired of seeing that. It's not unique anymore, and they'll lose interest fast. Do ones that haven't been performed...
I wasn't going to make it. I was woosy and I wasn't even on stage yet it was 4 hours away from the performance.I felt my hands moist with sweat and my breath became uneven. Not to mention I grew plus fidgety par the minute. "Oh why did I do this" I thought. I was way too shy to be in front of the class now I was going to be in front of the whole school and our parents. I should have known better the only reason I was doing this was because my mom a dit it was jouer la comédie ou oboe. She just wanted me out of the house to be with her boyfriend Tim. I should of chose Oboe but against my better judgement I...

Are toi surprised that I would dare to call toi something as offensive as "ordinary"? But it's true, and I have proof. I know this is true, because we have met before. I met toi first in middle school, as the girl who was always used to getting the lead and then was suddenly cast as the understudy. She...
